Lady A Reflects on 'God's Timing' As They Release New Single, 'Bigger Picture'

Lady A‘s new song, “Bigger Picture,” is out. Written by Trannie Anderson, Devin Dawson, Paul Sikes, and Andy Albert, the inspiring song is the first single from their forthcoming tenth studio album.

The chorus of “Bigger Picture” says, “It’s hard to believe it when all that we’re seeing / Is one little frame at a time / Yeah we all have our version of our picture perfect / But He has one better in mind / There’s days when I doubt it got questions about it / But God knows I gotta believe / He’s painting a bigger picture for me.”

The timing for Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott, and Dave Haywood couldn’t have been more providential.

“The day before we went into the studio to finish up our next record, this song was sent to Hillary. We felt its message so deeply and knew it needed to be on the next record, so we cut it the next day,” Haywood says. “Then, a week later, we learned of Charles’ cancer diagnosis. God’s timing in allowing this song to find us and the message behind it is truly carrying us right now. We can’t help but think there are more people who might need to hear it too. We trust there’s a bigger picture.”

Lady A’s Charles Kelley Opens Up About His Cancer Battle

Last month, Kelley revealed he has a rare form of blood cancer, called multiple myeloma.

“I’m young, I feel healthy, and the treatments, I will say, have just come so far, even in the past five years, that even the life expectancy far exceeds what it used to be,” Kelley said at the time.

Kelley also vowed to keep fans updated on his progress as he continues to work with Lady A while fighting cancer.

“I think in the same spirit of the way we’ve kind of shared a lot of my sobriety journey, just getting this stuff off your chest is so freeing, and it takes the power away from it a little bit. We wanted to let you all know what was going on, and we’re gonna get through it. I think in sobriety, it’s all about one day at a time, and that we’re not in control, so that’s the way we’re looking at it.”

The father of two recently gave a new health update after starting chemotherapy.

“It’s been good. The good thing is the treatment is working really well, but I will say I naively thought I would not be in so much pain,” Kelley shares.

“It’s kind of constantly achey, and really tired, but I do have my good days and my bad days,” he adds. “It’s a trip, man. It’s a trip. But we’re getting through it… I’m hoping that as the chemo gets in there and fights off these cancer cells that my bones and everything will actually feel a lot better over the next few weeks. But it ain’t no joke, man. It’s real.”
