Luke Bryan Talks About 'Unbelievable' Collaboration With Dan Seals

Luke Bryan is speaking out about his “Everything That Glitters (Is Not Gold)” collaboration with the late Dan Seals. Bryan added his voice to a new version of the classic song, for an upcoming duets project by Melody Place record label.

Bryan shares his thoughts in a video posted on social media.

“When I think of all-time iconic songs, this one is definitely at the top of my list,” Bryan says. “Dan Seals was an artist that was always on repeat, and I actually still listen to him so many times, especially out here on the farm on weekends. I sang this song all through college, when I was at Georgia Southern, all through my band’s growing up, and this is a big deal to be a part of this song with him. And the fact that it’s getting released is so unbelievable. I hope you guys love it.”

What Luke Bryan Says About “Everything That Glitters (Is Not Gold)”

Seals released “Everything That Glitters (Is Not Gold)” in 1986, on Seals’ fifth studio album, Won’t Be Blue Anymore. Seals, who passed away in 2009, wrote the song with Bob McDill.

“When I think of all time iconic songs, this one definitely comes top of mind,” Bryan said when the song was released. “Dan was an artist I had on repeat and actually still do. I sang this song when I was back in Georgia, and now to be here and paired with him on this new release is just unbelievable.”

Luke Bryan’s Next Album

Bryan is likely by now putting the finishing touches on his next album. He last released his Mind of a Country Boy album in 2024, which includes his  32nd No. 1 hit, with “Country Song Came On.”

“Anytime I’m having a big party on stage, and watching fans have fun, and escape the stress of their lives,” the 49-year-old tells Billboard, speaking of “Country Song Came On.” “I got a special place for party songs.”

“This year has been an amazing year for me, when I look at the touring side. Still selling out concerts and learning that what I say on stage is on TikTok the next day,” he continues, referring to his illness earlier this year. “So I gotta get a little better … I’m just enjoying every aspect of my career. I still love trying to be a better singer, songwriter and performer. And then the main thing is, get out there and try to keep having hits, and bringing the fans in.”

For Bryan’s next project, he hints he will do something that fans might not expect from him.

“It’s nice to kind of depart from what they expect and give them something new,” Bryan tells Country Countdown USA. “Now they’ll be wanting, hopefully, the next chapter of my singles, and keeping them guessing, and me trying to stay on top of my game.”
