Brian Kelley Is Open to a Florida Georgia Line Reunion With Tyler Hubbard

Brian Kelley wants to reunite with Tyler Hubbard once again. After the two ended Florida Georgia Line in 2022 to work on solo projects. Kelley now says he hopes they can make music together again in the future.

“Life is good right now,” Kelley says on Country Outdoors (via iHeart). “I can’t get on TikTok or Instagram without scrolling through and hearing a couple FGL songs, which is amazing. That run we went on was unbelievable. We’re just so grateful for that. And right now, I think just working on our brotherhood is kind of top tier, most important for us. And I think, Lord willing, the brotherhood will lead its way home. So, we’ll see.”

In a recent appearance on Human School Podcast, Hubbard admitted that he and Kelley hadn’t spoken much since their split. At the time, he said they were planning on getting together in the near future, with hopes of building their friendship back up again.

“I hadn’t spoken to BK a lot in the last couple of years,” Hubbard says (via People). “But we’re going on a hike next week, so the way I see it is, I have a desire for that friendship.

“I miss the guy I was partners with for ten years,” he adds. “I miss my old roommate, my best man at my wedding, and if nothing else, we should have a relationship.”

Hubbard and Kelley reunited at the CMA Awards, with Kelley later sharing on social media that they had gone on their promised hike. Now Kelley, who first initiated the idea of the two men making their own music, is hopeful that Florida Georgia Line can continue, in some capacity.

“I think we’re both focused on the friendship and working on our own stuff still,” Kelley says. “But I think time will tell, and I’m excited about what God can do. I think the options are endless right now. It’s really cool to see what time can do, as well. …But if I do think about it, it does excite me. So, we’ll see.”

Why Florida Georgia Line Split Up

Hubbard and Kelley spent a decade as one of the biggest acts in country music, which is why their dissolution came as a shock to so many people, including Hubbard.

“This was sort of a surprise. This was a career shift, and a big transition for me — going from being in a duo, Florida Georgia Line, to now stepping into this new season of being a solo artist,” Hubbard concedes on Entertainment Tonight. “And what that looks like and feels like, it’s been really exciting. But it was definitely unexpected and something that BK came to me and wanted to do. And it took me a minute to kind of process that. And I thought, ‘Well, I’ll just be a songwriter, and I won’t do the artist thing.’”

Hubbard, who has had four No. 1 singles since leaving Florida Georgia Line, quickly realized that he missed performing.

“Shortly thereafter, I was like, ‘Yeah, I really miss making records and touring and all that,’” Hubbard says. “It’s been really fun to kind of step into this new season and connect with the fans.”

While Hubbard says he would be open to making music again in some capacity, what he most wants is a friendship with Kelley.

“What I’m hungry for is… let me get my friend back,” Hubbard says. “We had so many amazing years of blessings, and doing the craziest things that our wildest dreams couldn’t have imagined. We should be doing life together in some capacity still.”
