Bradley Gaskin has a new song, out now. “Bout Damn Did,” written by Ryan Rosebo, Landon Parker, and Lee Starr, is a powerful reminder to live life to the fullest.
“This song is so relatable and real,” Gaskin tells Everything Nash. “Everyone in this world has felt these moments in their lives. It hits us all; nobody is left out. Those Bout Damn Did moments, that’s a numbered list right there for me. I can’t even begin to count that high.
“We’ve all had those missed opportunities, almosts and nearlys,” he adds. “And when I heard the song, it hit, with lyrics, the melody, and the truth!!!”
Bradley Gaskin Praises Producer Keith Stegall
“Bout Damn Did” is produced by Keith Stegall, whose numerous credits include Alan Jackson, Zac Brown Band, and more.
“Nashville is full of talented music producers, hit songwriters, and amazing musicians. It’s no secret. It’s a talented town. I’ve always loved the traditional side of all that. Crossing paths with powerhouse Keith Stegall, he’s all of those talents in one. Working with him will forever be at the top of my list. The artists and country stars I idolize, he calls friends. Hit after hit, he is continuously making Nashville what It meant to me as a kid. Real country and with a whole lot of feeling.
“I asked him once why he wanted to work with me, after working with so many iconic artists, and he told me, ’cause he believed in me,” he continues. “To have him say he loves what I do when singing and writing is still hard for me to believe. He lets me be me, and that is sometimes hard to find in the music industry.”
This isn’t Gaskin’s first time working with Stegall, and it likely won’t be his last. The Alabama native hints there is plenty more music coming from the two of them.
“We’ve recorded quite a few songs together, and written several that have made the cut,” Gaskin reveals. “He and I look for great songs, no matter if we write them or not. We want the best. That’s how I heard ‘Bout Damn Did.”’He sent it to me and said, ‘Here is a single to radio!'”
The Music Video For Bradley Gaskin’s “Bout Damn Time”
Gaskin chose to shoot the lyric video for “Bout Damn Time” in black and white.
“To me, it captured the song so perfectly,” Gaskin explains. “There are a lot of moments in my life of my ‘Bout Damn Did,’ moments that were sad and disappointing. Black and white hits harder than color when talking about this message to me. My buddy Andy Evinger was behind the camera, and I think he nailed it.”
The Message in “Bout Damn Did” by Bradley Gaskin
“Bout Damn Did” says, “Bout damn stopped you from drivin’ taillightin’ into the night / Bout damn talked you into coming back to me about a hundred times / It ain’t the things I’ve done I’m out here living with, / It’s what I didn’t do that I bout damn did.” It’s a message that Gaskin resonated with Gaskin as soon as he heard it.
“Keith sent me ‘Bout Damn Did,’” Gaskin says in a press release. “And when I heard it for the first time, I instantly thought, ‘Why didn’t I write this?’ This song hits everyone, everywhere because there’s not a single person who doesn’t have at least one ‘Bout Damn Did’ moment, leading to a few what ifs.”
Gaskin is playing a special show at Eric Church’s Chief’s on March 21. Find “Bout Damn Time” at Bradley-Gaskin.com.
