The long-awaited duet with Carly Pearce and Riley Green is out! The two just dropped “If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay.” The song, and sultry video, are from Pearce’s next album.
“Collaborating with artists I’m a fan of is one of my favorite things to do,” Pearce says. “I’ve been a fan of Riley’s for so long and knew if we could find the right moment, it would be special. ‘If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay’ is the perfect moment for us.”
“I’ve been a huge fan of Carly and her voice for a long time, so it was cool to get the text from her about this song,” adds Green. “The harmonies were unique and there was something really different about it. I’m glad she thought of me for this song. It’s awesome to get to do something together.”
Carly Pearce Talks About Her New Album
“If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay” is part of Pearce’s bold next project, which also includes “Dream Come True” and “Church Girl.” The record follows Hummingbird, her 2024 record.
“I really dug deep,” Pearce tells Everything Nash. “I switched producers. Ben West, I’m working with him. We’ve been longtime friends. We wrote ‘Show Me Around’ for Busbee. He is incredible. He made the two albums last year that really moved me, [by] Laci Kaye Booth and Stephen Wilson Jr. We made my favorite music I’ve ever made. I think I pushed myself sonically. I co-produced this record, and really just went back to my roots.
“I returned to the original dream, which was the girl growing up in Kentucky wanting to sing country and bluegrass,” she adds. “And the subject matter, I think I pushed myself writing and choosing songs that really were equally as vulnerable as what people know me to do, but that touch on some things that maybe people don’t know about me.”
Carly Pearce’s Timeline For Her Next Project
Pearce is spending much of 2026 on tour, including some overseas dates. She has yet to reveal a title or release date for her next project, but she does say she can’t wait for her fans to hear her new music.
“It’s been a really long time since I put music out,” Pearce shares. “So I feel like in a lot of ways I’m giving myself some space to release music while going overseas. I’m spending a lot of time at the beginning of the year in Australia, and doing a UK tour. And then I’ll be back once a lot of music and album are announced and things are out, to do some things in the fall.”
