Lainey Wilson has a new song, out now. The Grand Ole Opry member just released “Can’t Sit Still.” The song is from her forthcoming new album, the follow-up to Whirlwind and Whirlwind Deluxe,.

“When I hear the words ‘can’t sit still,’ I think of me,” Wilson says in a video for Ford Trucks, featuring Wilson and “Can’t Sit Still.” “I would say it’s one of my qualities that I feel like has been one of the things that’s got me where I’m at… When it comes to songwriting and getting creative and things like that, it’s always important for me to try to be one step ahead. This job will keep you moving.”

Ever since her breakout Things A Man Oughta Know record came out in 2020, Wilson has been moving full-speed ahead, as her career continues to grow.

“My friends would describe me as a suitcase with legs,” Wilson says. “I never really thought that you could be in ten different places at once, but somehow we make it happen.”

Wilson is eager for fans to hear her new music, which she says she has been working on for a long time.

“We are already cooking some stuff up,” Wilson shares at a recent media event. “To tell you the truth, we were already in the kitchen, cooking it up before Whirlwind was even out, which was a year and a half ago now. I feel like we’re always writing, because I don’t feel like I’m myself if I’m not creating and writing. I feel like that’s what gets me through all the busyness, and all the other parts of the job that exist.

“And so,” she continues, “I think people are really going to love what we’ve been working on. Of course, I’m partial. I think it definitely is going to show another side of my artistry. Always staying true to myself, but the more life I live, the more experience I have, where I realize I’ve got more to say and share.”

Lainey Wilson’s Wedding Plans to Devlin “Duck” Hodges

In addition to releasing new music, Wilson is also working on her wedding to her fiancé, Devlin “Duck” Hodges.

“Well, first of all, I just want it to be about what it’s supposed to be about,” Wilson tells People. “I want my family to be there, like my closest family, like my mama and daddy, sister and her kids. I want good music, good food.”

Wilson also wants the food to reflect her heritage.

“Well, I’m from Louisiana, so maybe a little bit of, like, a Cajun flare. My fiancé likes a good steak. So it might just be a mixture,” Wilson reveals.
