RaeLynn Talks New Musical Chapter, Drops Summer Anthem [EXCLUSIVE]

RaeLynn might be at the beginning of her most exciting musical chapter yet. The 32-year-old rose to prominence by competing on Season 2 of The Voice in 2012. Since then, RaeLynn has been releasing music, touring, and continuing to amass more and more fans.

Now, RaeLynn just released “Come On Cowboy (Giddy Up),” the first single from a forthcoming project on Red Van Records. RaeLynn wrote “Come On Cowboy (Giddy Up)” with Zach Abend and Geoff Warburton.

“It’s a song for the summer and for my country girls that are a little wild and like to dance,” RaeLynn tells Everything Nash. “I’m really excited about the single. It’ll be fun.”

“Come On Cowboy (Giddy Up)” is the first taste of more music that RaeLynn can’t wait to share with the world.

“There’s another song coming out with a legend. I can’t really say too much about that one,” RaeLynn hints. “It’s a duet. And then, just more new music that I’m writing. So we’re kind of in the season of trying to figure out what’s next after ‘Come On Cowboy,’ which I’m really excited about. All good things.”

RaeLynn Talks About Her Busy Touring Schedule

RaeLynn is juggling working on new music with her busy touring schedule, including opening for Luke Bryan on select dates on his Word On the Street Tour, along with headlining several of her own shows. RaeLynn also opened for Jason Aldean last year, on his Full Throttle Tour.

“Jason’s very serious, but also a goober,” RaeLynn reveals. “But then you actually have the ultra goober, which is Luke. But they’re so funny, ’cause they’re best friends, but they’re totally opposite. But both of their crews are so fun. It was so fun to be out with Jason last year. But to be with Luke this year is gonna be a blast too. I’ve never been out with him on a full tour. I’ve done a few shows here and there. I’m excited. It’s gonna be good.”

Few people work as hard as RaeLynn, who still prioritizes songwriting, even while on the road.

“We just make it happen,” RaeLynn says. “We schedule it in. That’s why you have schedulers. My routine normally is, especially in the tour season. I leave normally on Wednesday, Thursday night, get on the road, and then I have Monday off. And then I’ll try to write on Tuesday or Wednesday. I always like to keep the creative side of my brain working, even while I’m on the road, because that’s what I love to do. So it’s great.”

RaeLynn is also a very hands-on mom to her four-year-old daughter, Daisy, who travels with her on tour.

“She loves her bunk,” RaeLynn says. “She knows that on the road she gets to stay up late. I let her stay up to like 10:30 to watch Luke. She was wild. She likes to watch; she loves country music. She’s just like her mama.”
