Kenny Chesney to Have His Own Exhibit At the Country Music Hall of Fame

Kenny Chesney

A new exhibit about Kenny Chesney‘s extraordinary life and career is coming to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Kenny Chesney: Living in Fast Forward will open on July 23, and remain open through June 2027.

Items in Living in Fast Forward include varsity jacket and jersey Chesney wore while he was a member of the Gibbs High School Eagles football team in the mid-1980; the Fender Concord acoustic guitar Chesney played throughout college at East Tennessee State University; a handwritten Nashville Number System chord chart for “You and Tequila” that Chesney used when he recorded the song in 2010; the Atwood pinto palm leaf hat Chesney is wearing on the cover of his 2024 album, Born, and much more.

“When you’re so busy living life – literally in fast forward – you rarely pause to think about all the miles traveled, the faces you’ve met along the way,” Chesney says of the honor. “Trying to decide what things to send to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum that represent a whole lot of dreams, living, songs, the work and things you don’t dare imagine was as hard as anything I’ve ever done.

“But in the end,” he continues, “I feel like every piece of who I am is represented – and I hope that for someone who’s thinking about chasing their own crazy dreams, this may be the spark to get them on their way.”

What the Country Music Hall of Fame CEO Kyle Young Says About Kenny Chesney’s Honor

Country Music Hall of Fame’s CEO, Kyle Young, is especially pleased to honor Chesney with his own exhibit, less than a year after Chesney became a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.

“Kenny Chesney’s creative vision and intense drive to continue raising the bar has helped him reach staggering commercial and artistic highs,” Young says. “He has broken almost as many records as he has made, and his work is far from done. Through his distinctive sound and dynamic live show, he continues to expand country music’s audience, its perception and its sound.”

What Kenny Chesney Says About Becoming a Member Of the Country Music Hall of Fame

Last October, Chesney became an official member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. For Chesney, there will never be a greater honor than his induction.

“Walking into that rotunda and taking that group shot with a lot of my heroes and a lot of my friends, it was the first time that I’ve ever felt accomplished in my life,” Chesney said during his heartfelt speech. “This is an unbelievable feeling to stand here in this moment, and with every cell in my body, I feel the gravity of this moment.”

Ahead of his induction, the East Tennessee native said he never even dreamed big enough to enter the Country Music Hall of Fame.

“I had a really big dream and I’m still pushing that dream as far as I can,” Chesney said. “I just wanted to record and write songs that reflected the lives of a lot of people that came to our shows, and I just wanted to spread as much positive energy and love as I possibly could …I know it’s not a dream. It’s real and it feels surreal.”
