‘American Idol’ Winner Laine Hardy Releases Two New Songs

New music is here from Laine Hardy! The American Idol winner dropped not one but two new songs, “Ground I Grew Up On” and “Let There Be Country,” earlier this month.

“I am so excited to finally be able to release this new music!” the Louisiana native said in a statement about his new music. “I hope these songs give you an idea of where I grew up on the Bayou, running through the fields with my cousins and fishing on Lake Maurepas. Louisiana is always going to be in my heart, and I want to just keep making Louisianans proud.”

While Laine, along with much of the rest of the world, is self-isolating amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Laine decided now was the perfect time to share some of his new music with his fans.

“My family is all staying home together, including my cousin who is also my drummer,” Laine explained. “Makes sense to make some music while we’re at it. Really miss being on the road and can’t wait to share these new songs online.”

Laine was crowned the Season 17 winner of American Idol on May 19, 2019. Since then he’s been working hard on new music, which will be a mix of all of his favorite influences, including country.

“I have inspirations from all genres of music,” Laine previously told Forbes, when asked what his debut record would sound like.. “That’s a really hard question to answer. But I mean, in Louisiana we listen to all kinds of different music and we love all kinds of different music. So that’s going to influence my album.

Laine is also laucnhed the Ground I Grew Up On virtual tour, with tour stops online at several outlets, including The Boot, CMT, Live With Kelly and Ryan, The Tennessean and more. Find more information on Laine’s website.
