Brothers Osborne Drop Self-Titled 4th Studio Album: ‘This Is Us’

Brothers Osborne‘s eponymous fourth studio album is out! The 11-track record, co-written entirely by duo members John and TJ Osborne, is a new chapter for them, who embraced bravely being their authentic selves, ahead of its release. Brothers Osborne is their first project out since Skeletons was released in 2020.

“John and I have really shared so much of our personal lives since the release of Skeletons,” TJ shared with Everything Nash and other outlets during a virtual media event. “And I guess we didn’t realize when we created that, that there were some sort of barriers there that maybe we didn’t realize and certainly didn’t want there. And this time around, while we didn’t necessarily pointedly or specifically talk about those topics, it was the first time we were able to create without any barriers, and it just made the process a lot more fun.”

Brothers Osborne’s debut single, “Let’s Go There,” came out in 2013. In the decade since then, both John and TJ have come into their own, as singers, songwriters and performers, a newfound confidence that is evident on all of the songs on their latest album. They also, for the first time in their career, switched from award-winning producer, Jay Joyce, to using Mike Elizondo, a musician, to helm the project.

“We got to explore a lot more musically in the studio, and we felt like for the first time completely 100 percent us,” TJ says. “And I feel that the record reflects that. Usually people do that on their first record, but we thought this is a new beginning for us, so between the change of the producer and a lot of the musicians and stuff, we just thought this was kind of a fresh thought. We’re gonna lean in more than we have previously and this is us, Brothers Osborne.”

Brothers Osborne’s debut single from the record, “Nobody’s Nobody,” is currently in the Top 30. The duo was just announced as the recipients of the 2023 Randy Owen Angels Among Us Award, honoring their ongoing support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
