Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett + More to Play Covenant School Benefit

Nashville is still reeling from the tragic Covenant School shooting last month, which cost the lives of three children and three adults. As the city continues to recover from the tragedy, several country artists, including Carrie Underwood and Thomas Rhett, are combining their talents for A Night of Joy Celebrating The Covenant School, to raise money for necessary resources for the school as they continue to heal.

The event will be held at the Fisher Center, on the Belmont University campus, on April 12 at 7:00 PM. Other confirmed artists include Chris Tomlin, Lady A, Tyler Hubbard, Dave Barnes, Natalie Hemby, Ben Rector, Matt Maher, The War and Treaty and more. Other artists are expected to be announced in the near future.

“Nashville musicians and songwriters stand with The Covenant School and Covenant Church for a night of joy, restoration, music, and memory,” a statement reads on the event’s website. “Join us and add your voice to honor the victims and their families, the church, staff, and the first responders. Hosted by Annie F. Downs (Author/Speaker), an extraordinary group of Nashville-based artists have gathered to lend their voices and talents in support.”

Barnes, who will join Lady A on their Request Line Tour beginning on April 14, spoke on social media about the tragedy.

“The Covenant School has been our home away from home for the last six years and is where all of our children go to school,” Barnes says in part. “They were all there last Monday and thankfully are all home and safe. Covenant is not only our school but is our church family also. So much of our life is there.

“There will be a time I talk more about this in the future, but for now we’re keeping it close to home spending time with our family and friends grieving and trying to heal,” he continues. “All those who passed are beloved members of our community and we are beyond heartbroken for their families.”

Early access tickets for Covenant School members will be available on Tuesday, April 4. Tickets for the general public will be available on Wednesday, April 5. Find tickets here.
