Chris Tomlin Announces Return of ‘Good Friday Nashville’ at Bridgestone

Chris Tomlin will once again return for his annual Good Friday service at Bridgestone Arena. The Christian music hitmaker will perform at the downtown arena on April 7, with his Good Friday Nashville event, where he will be joined by several surprise guests. Best-selling author and minister Max Lucado will also deliver a special message.

“There is a passage in Hebrews 13 that I return to when I think about this night,” Tomlin says. “It says, ‘Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.’ That truly is the heart of Good Friday Nashville, for all streams of the church to come together, celebrate what God has done and is continuing to do in our city, and then give back to those most vulnerable in the community.”

Proceeds from Good Friday Nashville will benefit For Others, a non-profit group created by Tomlin and his wife, Lauren, which works to close the gap between children in need and capable care providers, through raising awareness, maximizing resources and mobilizing communities.

Tomlin has become one of the most influential singers and songwriters in Christian music of all time, penning songs heard around the world, including “How Great Is Our God,” “Good Good Father,” “Our God” and more. His career has far surpassed even Tomlin’s biggest dreams for himself, and what he wanted to accomplish with his talents.

“I’ve always just had this idea to write,” Tomlin told Everything Nash. “Even young, I just loved what people would sing. I didn’t even know what the term ‘worship leader’ was or what worship music was. I just loved when I played at church, and people would sing, and so I started trying to write songs that way. And then God just did it all. This was long before there was a publisher, or record companies started using these songs. The songs started being sung around, and I’m just so grateful.”

Previous surprise guests for Good Friday Nashville have included Rascal Flatts, Lady A, We The Kingdom, Lauren Daigle, Hillsong UNITED and more. Tickets for Good Friday Nashville are available now at GoodFridayNashville.com. Find all of Tomlin’s music and upcoming shows at ChrisTomlin.com.
