What Chris Young Says About Christmas

Young has made no secret of his love for everything surrounding the Christmas season.

“I love everything about it. Not only the time with family, but also the meaning of the season — just everything that goes along with it,” Young says (via The Boot). “And it really is my downtime as a musician as well. It’s the first time that, really, there’s a full week of me at home with my parents and my sister and my stepbrother, and everybody’s actually together.

“We all sit down and watch terrible Christmas movies together. There’s always entirely too much food, and there’s gifts — just all of that stuff wrapped up into one week and time period,” he adds. “I love it.”

In 2021, Young surprised his stepfather by gifting him a new truck for Christmas.

Chris Young’s New Music

The new tour is only part of an exciting new chapter for Young. He currently has a Top 40 single with “‘Til The Last One Dies.” The song is from his forthcoming I Didn’t Come Here To Leave album, out on October 17. Young wrote 11 of the 14 songs on the project.

“On a record, a lot gets made of how many tempos and how many ballads, as opposed to just making a record from top to bottom that you’ve fallen in love with – but that’s all I’ve ever tried to do,” Young explains. “I look at this album and there are songs that make you want to buy a beer, and there’s songs that if you broke up with somebody, you’re going to want to cry. For different reasons, I feel like this is a complete album – and it would be a disservice to Black River if I didn’t turn in something I believed in this way.”
