Chris Young Announces It Must Be Christmas Acoustic Tour

Chris Young has a lot to look forward to for the remainder of the year. The Tennessee native is les than two weeks away from the October 17 release of I Didn’t Come Here To Leave, his first record on Black River Entertainment. And then the following month, Young will embark on his  It Must Be Christmas – An Acoustic Evening with Chris Young Tour, a career first for Young.

“I’ve never done a Christmas tour before, so it’s exciting and a little nerve-wracking,” Young tells Franklin Lifestyle. “But Christmas is one of my favorite times of year. It’s a chance to do something different and hopefully create a show people come back to year after year.”

When announcing the holiday tour, Young said he was eager to celebrate the season with his fans.

“Christmas is probably my favorite holiday,” Young said at the time. “Music was always heavily tied to the spirit of the season for me, so I can’t wait to celebrate that feeling with everyone out on the road this year!”

Chris Young’s ‘I Didn’t Come Here To Leave’ Album

Young’s I Didn’t Come Here To Leave is being released on the eighth anniversary of Young’s induction into the Grand Ole Opry.

“There’s something really special about saying you’re a part of the Opry family,” Young says. “I remember going to shows there as a kid, and it just holds a very large place of significance to our community.”

Young’s deal at RCA Nashville, where he had been for his entire career, was ending, and he had every intention of meeting with several different record labels. But after meeting with Black River Entertainment, he didn’t look anywhere else, instead beginning the work on I Didn’t Come Here To Leave.

“When I signed the new deal, I felt like throwing a party,” Young says. “The song is indicative of who I am as an artist. I’ve been through the ups and downs, I’ve stuck around and I’m still here. Plus, it’s just fun as hell.”
