CMT Music Awards Reveal Top 6 Video of the Year Finalists

We now know who the Top 6 finalists are for Video of the Year at the upcoming CMT Music Awards. The fan-voted awards started with 16 finalists in the category, which is now narrowed down to six.

The artists who are still in the running for Video of the Year are Ashley McBryde, with “Light On In the Kitchen,” Cody Johnson with The Painter,” HARDY with “Truck Bed,” Jelly Roll, with “Need a Favor,”  Kelsea Ballerini  with “If You Go Down, I’m Goin’ Down Too,” and Lainey Wilson, with “Watermelon Moonshine.”

The final three nominees will be announced on Sunday morning, April 7, ahead of the live ceremony.

Kelsea Ballerini will host the live ceremony for the fourth year in a row, and her first by herself, after doing the first three years with Kane Brown. She is also part of a star-studded list of performers, including Johnson, Jelly Roll, Wilson, Old DominionMegan Moroney and Parker McCollum with Brittney Spencer, Keith UrbanBailey ZimmermanSam Hunt  and Trisha Yearwood.

 

Jelly Roll, Wilson and Johnson remain in the running for the most nominations, with three nods each. In addition to Video of the Year, Jelly Roll is also nominated for Male Video of the Year, and Performance of the Year, all for “Need a Favor.”

Wilson’s other nominations are for Female Video of the Year, also for “Watermelon Moonshine,’ and Collaborative Video of the Year, for Lukas Nelson + Promise of The Real feat. Lainey Wilson – “More Than Friends.”

Johnson is nominated for Male Video of the Year, for “The Painter,” and CMT Performance of the Year, for “Human,” from the 2023 CMT Music Awards.
