Dolly Parton’s Dollywood Theme Park Extends Season Passes Into 2021

While Dolly Parton’s Dollywood theme park remains closed, due to COVID-19, there is a bit of good news, at least for season ticket holders. With the 2020 season already shortened, without a specific date planned for Dollywood to reopen, season pass holders who purchased their passes for the 2020 season will be able to use them for part of the 2021 season as well.

“To ensure your family will be able to have plenty of time to enjoy your 2020 Season Passes, we are extending the validity of your current 2020 Season Pass through June 1, 2021,” the park announced in a statement on its website. “This extension also applies to the FREE Pre-K Imagination Season Pass. There is nothing you need to do. Your pass will automatically be updated. Soon, we will also be sharing how to redeem your Summer Bring-A-Friend FREE as well as our future plans for re-opening.”

While 89 counties in Tennessee are beginning the process of reopening, it is unclear when Dollywood will actually be open for visitors.

“We continue to consult with medical experts and monitor the situation to determine when it may be safe to reopen Dollywood and Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort,” the statement continued. “The safety of our employees and guests remain our highest priority.”

Dolly purchased Dollywood, located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, in 1986. Formerly Silver Dollar City, Dolly decided to purchase the theme park and rename it Dollywood, to provide jobs for those in and around her hometown of Sevierville.

“I always thought that if I made it big or got successful at what I had started out to do, that I wanted to come back to my part of the country and do something great,” Dolly previously said (via The Boot). “Something that would bring a lot of jobs into this area. Sure enough, I was lucky, and God was good to me, and things happened good.”

Dolly just created an At Home Together playlist, which is available on Spotify.
