Easton Corbin Returns Strong With ‘Let’s Do Country Right’ [EXCLUSIVE]

New music is finally here from Easton Corbin. The Florida native’s new album, Let’s Do Country Right, marking his first full-length album since 2015’s About to Get Real, is out now.

“It’s been a project that I’ve had probably two or three years to write,” Corbin tells Everything Nash. “It’s been a really refreshing experience because your first record, you have your whole life to write for it and find songs. And then after that it’s like boom, boom, boom. And so, I’ve had a really great opportunity to go back to my roots, and to that music that I love and made me fall in love with country music, and wanting to do it for a living and sing it for a living. It’s been a great experience.”

Although it’s been several years since Corbin released a full record, he hasn’t been idle. The singer-songwriter has still been making music, and a lot of it, while waiting for a new label to call home.

“I was with Mercury before, and I had a new record there,” Corbin says. “I had ‘A Girl Like You’ out, and that was actually the first single off that record. We didn’t release that whole record, we just released ‘A Girl Like You,’ and then me and Mercury separated ways. I went about two or three years before I found the right group of people to partner with and sign with.”

Let’s Do Country Right is Corbin’s first release on Stone Country Records, run by industry veteran Benny Brown. It’s a place where Corbin, fortunately, feels right at home.

“It’s been a great experience working with Benny Brown,” Corbin boasts. “He’s really a big fan of country music, and loves traditional country music, and of course, that’s what I love. That’s my roots, and it’s always been important to me to keep one foot in the traditional and one foot in the modern, and marry those two things. Benny’s just been a huge supporter, and the whole label itself, when it comes to my artistry and who I am as a person and an artist.”

Corbin co-wrote all 13 songs on Let’s Do Country Right, including his current single, “Marry That Girl,” which he penned with Adam Craig, Shane Minor and Wade Kirby.

“We started talking about titles and things and I don’t know how we got on it, but then Adam started talking about how he met his wife, and how he knew as soon as he saw her for the first time,” Corbin recounts. “He didn’t know her, but he saw her. He was like, ‘Man, I knew I was gonna marry that girl.’ And we looked at each other and I was like, ‘Hmm, that sounds like an interesting title. We probably need to go down that trail.’  We came up with a great song.

“It’s been crazy because we haven’t really promoted it, but it just came to the top,” he adds. “I think we’ve got about 35 million streams on it right now. And in my shows, as soon as my guitar player starts vamping on the intro, people know it immediately.”

Corbin will perform alongside Mark Wills, Rhett Akins, Chad Brock and Andy Griggs at the 5th Annual Daryle Singletary Keeping It Country Jam, taking place on Thursday, February 16, at the Nashville Palace.  Let’s Do Country Right and all of Corbin’s music, as well as a list of his upcoming shows, can be found at EastonCorbin.com.
