Emily Ann Roberts Wins First Industry Award, Named Rising Artist-Writer of the Year

Congratulations to Emily Ann Roberts, who just won her first music industry award! Roberts was named Rising Artist-Writer of the Year at the AIMP (Association of Independent Music Publishers) Nashville Awards.

“I’m so honored to be named AIMP Nashville’s Rising Artist-Writer of the Year,” Roberts says of the honor. “Nashville’s community of publishers and writers have been so edifying to me over the past ten years. … This award makes me want to work harder to live up to be the woman this town believes I am.”

In addition to being named the Rising Artist-Writer of the Year, Roberts’ “Come Home to You” song was also named the Publisher’s Pick of the Year.

“I moved to this town to be an artist and entertainer. While I love to write my own songs, it is an even greater honor to be trusted with someone else’s art,” Roberts reflects. “I’m so proud to have recorded ‘Come Home To You’ and thrilled for Jim McCormick, Michael Wilkes, and Makayla Lynn to have received this honor.”

Emily Ann Roberts Releases New Single, ‘My Future’

Roberts just released a brand-new single, “My Future.” The song idea was inspired by Roberts’ own husband, Chris.

“He thought it would be a great song idea, after seeing so many comments on social media saying, ‘I think I see my future,'” Roberts says. “I started daydreaming about it, and fell in the love with the idea of a girl seeing a guy and planning their whole life together in a matter of minutes. A little crazy? Yeah maybe, but when a woman knows what she wants, she knows!”

Roberts wrote “My Future” with Shane Minor and Micah Wilshire. It remains one of her favorite songs she has ever written.

“I remember the day being so inspiring, because we were just having fun and writing what made us grin. Brandon Hood produced the track and knocked it out of the park,” Roberts says. “It is full of personality and exactly what I dreamed it would be. I hope fans have as much fun listening to it as I did making it.”
