Gretchen Wilson Joined by Ella Langley For 'Here For The Party'

Gretchen Wilson is teaming up with Ella Langley for a new version of “Here For The Party.” The song, written by Wilson, along with John Rich and Big Kenny, was first released in 2004 as Wilson’s second single, following her iconic “Redneck Woman” debut. “Here For The Party” is the title track of Wilson’s freshman record. It is also the first single from Wilson’s forthcoming new duets album.

“When I started thinking about who to ask to sing on this track, Ella was my first and only choice,” Wilson says. “I’ve been following her almost from day one, and her story, her music, and her sass remind me so much of myself when my own career took off. And we had a blast performing it together at CMA Fest!”

“Gretchen is a hero of mine, and I have played ‘Here for the Party’ in every show my whole life,” adds Langley. “Performing the song live with her has been wild to experience, and it’s an honor to be a part of this album.”

Wilson and Langley first performed “Here For The Party” together at Ella’s sold-out Ryman Auditorium concert last November.

All About Gretchen Wilson’s Duets Album

Wilson recently revealed she was doing a new version of Here For The Party, joined on all of the songs by fellow artists.

“I decided to rerecord the first album, and do it all as duets,” Wilson tells Country Now. “Every song on there, except for ‘Pocahontas Proud.’ That one’s a little too personal. I couldn’t imagine asking someone else to sing that they’re from Pocahontas, when I don’t even really want to sing that. But I’ve got a big lineup of different people.”

Travis Tritt joins Wilson on “Holding You.” Other artists appearing on Wilson’s new project include Ashley McBrydeMiranda Lambert, and Cody Johnson, among others.

Wilson previously hinted that some of country music’s most notable artists would join her on her next project.

“It’s going to be the very first album with all of the big hits that everybody knows on it. But what’s different is I’m going to have a guest artist on each song,” Wilson reveals to People, adding that it will be available early next year. “I can’t tell you who yet, but definitely some big names and some that are very, very right now and some that are just my favorites from yesteryear.”

It was while Wilson was working as a tour manager on the inaugural season of The Road when she had the idea to head back to the studio.

“Watching the fire and just the want in these kids… These contestants were all so very talented and just amazing to work with,” Wilson says. “They lit a bit of a fire in me.”

“Here For The Party” will be out on Friday, June 26. The entire record will be available in early 2027.
