Gretchen Wilson has a brand new song, out now. The country music icon just released “Love Me Out Of Leavin’.” The song was written by Wilson, along with Wade Kirby and Shane Minor.
“Love Me Out Of Leavin'” says in part, “So love me out of leavin’ / Give me something to believe in / That old familiar feelin’ / I ain’t been feelin’ in a while / You know I don’t want to / So give me something to hold on to / All I need’s a reason / So love me out of leavin’.”
“I’m so excited to get a true-blue, two-steppin’ country song out there,” Wilson says. “It’s about dang time!”
What Gretchen Wilson Says About New Music
Wilson recently announced she is releasing a duet version of her freshman Here For The Party album, recreating the songs on the record with some of her favorite artists. Wilson is joined on the new project by Ashley McBryde, Miranda Lambert, Travis Tritt, and Cody Johnson, among others.
“I decided to rerecord the first album, and do it all as duets,” the Illinois native explains to Country Now. “Every song on there, except for ‘Pocahontas Proud.’ That one’s a little too personal. I couldn’t imagine asking someone else to sing that they’re from Pocahontas, when I don’t even really want to sing that. But I’ve got a big lineup of different people.”
Ella Langley joins Wilson on the record’s title track. The two debuted the song at CMA Fest earlier this year.
What Gretchen Wilson Says About Her Next Record
It’s been several years since Wilson released a new record, which is partly why she is so eager to share Here For The Party with the world. Not that Wilson has been idle. In 2025, Wilson won Season 13 of FOX’s The Masked Singer.
“I decided to try my hand at The Masked Singer because I wanted to see just how far I would be able to take myself,” Wilson said after her monumental win. “For the first couple of performances, I was very nervous, shaking, heart was beating really fast. But after I started getting comfortable, I realized that I could do anything back there.”
Wilson also appeared on The Road in 2025, working alongside Blake Shelton and Keith Urban.
Wilson’s new Here For The Party is the first time Wilson is doing a project full of collaborations.
“It’s going to be the very first album with all of the big hits that everybody knows on it,” Wilson tells People. “But what’s different is I’m going to have a guest artist on each song. I can’t tell you who yet, but definitely some big names and some that are very, very right now and some that are just my favorites from yesteryear.”
The Song That Started Gretchen Wilson’s Historic Career
Wilson may not have become one of the leading ladies in country music if not for “Redneck Woman.” Her debut single and first No. 1 hit, the empowering song was markedly different from what other female artists were releasing at the time.
“‘Redneck Woman’ was just different enough at that time and authentic enough in that moment to become an anthem for women who weren’t being talked to, or talked about either,” Wilson says on Rolling Stone’s Nashville Now podcast. “I’m a very proud woman. I actually like myself. I like the things I’ve been able to accomplish.”
