Kane Brown Hints at ‘Massive’ Collaborations on New Album

Kane Brown is giving an update on his new album. The father of two girls, who is anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first son, says the new set of tunes might not be as country as he originally planned, but will likely include a few special guests.

“I keep getting songs and I’m like, ‘This is it,’ and I have so many,” Brown tells Country Now. “I was trying to go to the country route where everything’s super country, but then we just get these other collabs that are just massive.”

Included on the new project is “Miles On It,” his second collaboration with Marshmello, which follows their “One Thing Right” duet, released in 2019. Brown hasn’t disclosed who else might join him on the new record, but he does say having so many artists want to collaborate with him makes it a challenge.

“It’s really going to be hard trying to find out which ones we’re going to put on the album,” Brown admits.

It’s likely that his wife, Katelyn, will join him on his new set of tunes. The 30-year-old says he has already recorded several songs with his wife, after the success of their 2022 “Thank God” duet.

“We just recorded two [new songs] in the studio… and we have five total,” Brown shares on Apple Music’s Today’s Country Radio. “But she’s pregnant right now, so we can’t do music videos, so we just got it on pause.”

Brown has yet to reveal when his new record will be available, but he says he hopes it will happen at some point in 2024.

“We’ve got new music coming, hopefully a new album by at least the end of the year,” Brown tells the Evening Standard. “I feel like I’m almost done with it.”

Earlier this year, Brown teased a vulnerable and poignant song about depression, a topic he says is very personal to him.

“Sneak preview of a heavy song about depression and horrible thoughts and feelings that I feel like a lot of us go through but don’t like to talk about with other people,” Brown captioned the video. “If you relate to the song at all, just know you’re not alone, and I love you,”

The son of a single mother, whose father was incarcerated for most of his life, Brown vows to not shy away from the harder topics on his next album.

“I will say I have a couple of songs that are a little bit darker, about mental health,” Brown recently told ET Canada. “And then I have a song called ‘Learning,’ that I went a little bit more in-depth over the stuff that I went through, so I’m really excited about the music that we’re writing right now.”
