Trust Lauren Alaina to turn a disappointing –– and painful –– situation into something humorous. The American Idol alum revealed on Instagram that she broke two of her toes, while wearing a pepperoni pizza onesie.
“Taking the boot scoot to a whole new level,” Lauren captioned the video, which showed her circling the island in her kitchen in her motorized scooter, keeping her broken toes elevated. “I Brooks & Dunn went and broke two of my toes. I present to you, ‘Boot Scootin’ Boogie’ feet.”
Lauren is self-isolating along with much of the rest of the world right now, but it isn’t easy for her. The Dancing With the Stars finalist revealed that, even though she was with her father, there was nothing easy about being forced to stay away from others.
“We’ve all got to BAND together right now,” Lauren said on social media, sharing a photo of herself with her band. “As much as I miss touring with my brothers, I know how important it is for us to take this horrible virus seriously. Stay home friends. Love you.”
Lauren dropped her Getting Good EP earlier this year, which includes the title track as her current single, as well as “The Other Side,” written about her late stepfather, Sam Ramker.
“I wanted to create a song that did him justice,” Lauren previously said of the song. “He couldn’t hear me sing without crying because he was so proud of me… I wrote this song so that he can live on, and never be forgotten.”
Lauren was supposed to wrap up her final shows with Blake Shelton on his Friends and Heroes Tour, before the tour had to be postponed due to COVID-19. Her next scheduled concert isn’t until June. Find tour dates and purchase Getting Good by visiting her website.
