Loretta Lynn has taken Kid Rock off the market — sort of. The Country Music Hall of Fame member posted a few humorous photos of herself with Kid Rock over the weekend, joking that the two tied the knot. In reality, the rapper and singer was at Loretta’s ranch in Hurricane Mills for a ceremony for someone else instead.
“What a weekend!,” Loretta wrote. “My Ernie & Crystal renewed their vows this weekend. It was beautiful and everything it should be. Marriage isn’t always easy–heck it’s not even always pretty, but love holds you together and you push through the bad days to enjoy the good ones. I’m so proud of them and wish them years of happiness.
“Things got crazy then–my boy Kid Rock was there and we’ve always teased about getting ourselves married,” she continued. “Well, the preacher was already there so we had some fun with it. Sorry girls, he’s taken now!”

Loretta hinted earlier this year she had new music coming. The 88-year-old lamented, during an episode of Martina McBride’s Vocal Point podcast (via The Tennessean), that she was upset with the direction country music was heading in, adding that she planned on releasing her version of true country music instead.
“I think it’s dead,” Loretta lamented. “I think it’s a shame. I think it’s a shame to let a type of music die. I don’t care what any kind of music it is. Rock, country, whatever. I think it’s a shame to let it die, and I’m here to start feeding it.”
Loretta recently spoke out after Garth Brooks removed his name from the list of contenders for Entertainer of the Year, saying he was wrong in taking himself out of the category.
“I’ve thought a lot about Garth Brooks stepping down from being considered for CMA Entertainer of the Year,” Loretta wrote on social media. “That’s classic, humble Garth but I think he’s wrong on this one! He’s won it 7 times because he earned it! In my book, he’s earned it 20 times over and deserves to win it anytime they count the votes up and he’s on top. He’s worked his heart out and you can mark it down that I’m his biggest fan. I hope CMA ignores his request! Love you, honey.”
