Luke Bryan has been married to his wife, Caroline, since 2006. The two dated in college, although they went their separate ways for a while, before ultimately reuniting.
”I married my college sweetheart,” Luke says. “We dated back in college and broke up for nearly six years, and while I was off doing my Nashville stuff and touring and writing songs, she was finishing getting her career kind of going. We just kind of bumped into each other one night, and it was like bam, here we are married.”

Luke and Caroline were young when they met, but she still vividly recalls falling in love with her future husband.
“It was my first time in a bar,” Caroline recalls (via Taste of Country). “Luke was the second guy I’d ever kissed in my life, ever. So I meet Luke in a bar, and he’s such a big personality that I was just staring at him, like, ‘Is this guy for real?’ ‘Cause he is how he is. It is not fake. It is totally real.”
The two dated for a year and a half, but later broke up when Caroline felt Luke was getting too serious. Her brother and Luke stayed in touch, so four years later, when Luke was playing a gig while Caroline was visiting her brother, she went to see him, but left before his show ended. Later, Luke called her brother’s house – at three in the morning.
“He was like, ‘Where did you go?'” Caroline remembers. “And I said, ‘I’m sorry. I had to leave. I thought that you didn’t want to see me, and I’ve gotta be up at six.’ After that, we started texting, and we saw each other at Christmas, and we’ve been together ever since.”
How Caroline Bryan Supported Luke Bryan Early In His Career
Once Luke and Caroline started dating again, they stayed together. Long before Luke became a household name, it’s Caroline who supported them, so Luke could pursue his passion.
“I paid the bills for a while ’cause Luke wasn’t making money,” Caroline, who worked as a pharmaceutical rep, reveals (via People). “I never doubted him ever. I never doubted him once. He doubted himself a couple times, but I didn’t. He’s Luke. I knew that he could do it.”
They may not have the perfect marriage, but the mother of two insists that they are perfect for each other.
“Just like everyone, we have our arguments, bad days, and disagreements,” Caroline previously told People. “However, we always talk out our problems. Marriage isn’t always a fairy tale! It’s a battle that both people have to be willing to fight. Each day whether we are blissfully happy or not, we fight for each other … I’ll love Luke until my last breath.”
Luke and Caroline have two sons, Bo and Tate. They also raised their nephew, Til, following the death of his sister, Kelly, in 2007, and her husband, Ben, in 2014.
