Luke Combs Shares Full Tracklist for ‘Gettin’ Old’ Album

Luke Combs just shared the tracklist for his forthcoming new album, Gettin’ Old. The 18-track record, Combs’ fourth, marks the first time Combs hasn’t written all of the songs on one of his projects. The reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year wrote 15 of the songs, with Eric Church penning “My Song Will Never Die” along with Travis Meadows and Jonathan Singleton, and Randy Montana and Dave Turnbul writing “Where The Wild Things Are.” Combs also included a cover of Tracy Chapmans’ 1988 hit, “Fast Car.”

Combs almost included an outside song on his previous Growin’ Up album, out last June, but ultimately decided not to include it on the record.

“I just like that part of it so much, the writing thing,” Combs told Billboard. “I’m sure that my albums would probably be even more successful if I cut outside songs because [there are] songwriters a lot better than I am, but I just can’t bring myself to do it.”

Combs performed his current single, “Going, Going, Gone” at the recent Grammy Awards ceremony. The single is from Growin’ Up, and he admits he hesitated to release it at first.

“I’ve always loved this song, and I’ve always believed in it since we wrote it,” Combs says of the track, which he wrote with Ray Fulcher and James McNair. “It’s a little bit different than the things that we’ve done in the past, so I was kind of nervous about putting this song out and seeing what people’s reactions to it would be, just because it is a little bit left of center of what I usually do, but I think it’s a perfect fit for this show.

“And I’m excited for a lot of people who’ve maybe never heard of me or listened to me before, to kind of get a chance to at least hear me and go, ‘Oh, this guy’s not so bad!’” he adds.

See a track list for Gettin’ Old below. The album will be released on March 24. Combs will embark on his World Tour in March 25 in Arlington, Texas, and will play in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and more, before wrapping up on October 19 in the UK. Riley GreenLainey Wilson, Flatland Cavalry and Brent Cobb will serve as the opening acts for some dates, with Cody Johnson and Lane Pittman taking over opening act duties for some of the overseas dates as well.
