Maddie & Tae Share Footage From Their Own Weddings in ‘Trying on Rings’ Video: WATCH

Both Madison Marlow and Taylor Dye, the two women who make up the duo Maddie & Tae, recently tied the knot. So it’s only fitting that they both used footage from their own weddings for the video for “Trying on Rings.” The song is from their latest album, The Way It Feels, which was released in April.

“I hope people can see and feel how much love was put into the song and shown in the video,” Maddie told Entertainment Tonight.

“Trying on Rings” was written by both Maddie and Tae, along with Jimmy Robbins and Laura Veltz, and  inspired by Maddie’s relationship with her now-husband, Jonah Font. Still, the song is one both women hope others “hear their own love story in this song and realize it’s all the little moments that mean the most.”

Maddie, who still gets emotional watching their love story play out in the “Trying on Rings” video, has fond memories of her wedding day –– and is grateful she gets to still relive them.

“I can’t pick just one [favorite] moment because there were so many,” Maddie admitted. “I would say our first dance to ‘Late to the Party’ by Kacey Musgraves, my dad’s toast, our best man and maid of honor speeches, and the four-hour dance party!”

With Maddie & Tae off the road due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, they are soaking up every minute that they can with their new husbands.

“The fact that I’m not traveling every week and having so much time together has strengthened our marriage,” Maddie acknowledged. “We normally don’t get much quality time with me being on the road, so it has been a blessing getting to spend so much uninterrupted time together.”

“[We have] learned so much about how the other copes with things,” Tae added. “We’ve both been very patient in letting the other feel what they’re feeling.”
