Nashville’s Goo Goo Launches Summer Chef Series — See the Lineup

Goo Goo is once again launching its Summer Chef Series, which kicks off on Wednesday, July 8. The series, which will run through the end of September, features six chefs from popular Nashville restaurants, who will work with Pastry Chef of the Goo Goo Shop and Dessert Bar, Mike Colón, to create a unique candy specific to their own cuisine, style or background.

The list of chefs participating in the Summer Chef Series includes Aqui Simpson Hines of 400 Degrees Hot Chicken, David Tieman of Five Points Pizza, Nina Singto of Thai Esane, Brian Riggenbach of The Mockingbird and Skylar Bush of Edible Nashville magazine. Vivek Surti of Tailor Nashville already launched his creation, the Chikki Likki Premium Goo Goo,, which is a nod to his Indian heritage, with strawberry, pistachio, cardamom and orange blossom caramel, covered in dark chocolate.

All of the creations will be available to purchase at the Goo Goo shop in downtown Nashville, with a percentage of the sales benefiting the Nashville Food Project, which “brings people together to grow, cook and share nourishing food” through a variety of programs.

According to Goo Goo’s website, “Flavors will rotate throughout the series, with a new flavor releasing every two weeks, and each available for purchase for at least four weeks. These new Premiums will be announced on the Goo Goo social media channels and website, googoo.com, as they are launched.” Chefs also have the option of selling their own creations on their menu as well.

In July, Goo Goo is also offering Behind the Bar, a chocolate sipping and tasting workshop in downtown Nashville. Part educational, part delicious, tickets are required for the event. More information can be found here.

Goo Goo began in 1912 in Nashville. The shop and dessert bar also includes ice cream treats, other desserts, gifts and novelty items. Find more information at GooGoo.com.
