Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium Updates Plans to Reopen

Fans of Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium will have to wait a little bit longer before visiting the historic venue. The famed concert hall recently announced that they will remain closed through May 16, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“In the interest of the health and well-being of our guests and employees and to align with Metro Nashville safety guidelines, we have decided to extend our pause on operations for all activity at the Ryman, including shows and events, retail, food service at Cafe Lula, and all of our tours through May 16, 2020,” an announcement read on the Ryman Auditorium’s social media pages. “This includes all tickets purchased for events and tours during this period.”

A statement on the Ryman Auditorium’s website said they plan on being back in operation after May 16.

“At this time, shows after May 16, 2020 are proceeding as planned,” the statement read. “If you have a question pertaining to an event taking place May 16, 2020, please contact us by visiting ryman.com/contact. Include your name, order number, and email address on the supplied form so that we can best assist you. We are working through the events in the order in which they are scheduled to occur.”

Governor Bill Lee recently paved the way for 89 counties in Tennessee to start reopening as of Monday, April 27, under strict guidelines. Nashville mayor John Cooper is working with local officials to allow businesses to open in the near future, with “precaution, social distancing, and the health and safety of our community top of mind.”

Some shows scheduled after May 16 still appear to be rescheduled. Clint Black, scheduled for May 17, has postponed his show until Sept. 13, and Styx, scheduled for May 23, has been rescheduled for Dec. 8. Find a complete list of shows at Ryman.com.
