hey guys it's g with everything n here
0:02
with the r law St and Jen and we are so
0:05
excited to talk to them we have actually
0:07
never spoken before so this is going to
0:08
be super fun um the world kind of knows
0:11
who you are
0:12
now can you believe it no so you guys
0:14
were you guys were already big in Canada
0:17
yeah and then you went on AGT talk about
0:20
when you decided who had the idea to say
0:22
hey let's just go put it out there on
0:24
national TV yeah I mean that was a it
0:26
was a big decision for us they actually
0:27
reached out to us and asked if we would
0:29
audition and scared us yes at first we
0:32
were like no we can't do that we have a
0:35
career it could be bad if it goes bad um
0:39
but we're also very much yes people and
0:43
this journey this life Journey this
0:44
career has not been a straight line
0:46
there's been so many different paths and
0:49
if anything we've learned to just say
0:50
yes to everything so we had to do it we
0:52
had to try out to be judged by Simon cow
0:54
is something yeah and he was also the
0:57
one like doing the questions like he was
0:59
in charge of us for like that segment so
1:01
right away you go out there he starts
1:02
talking you're like I'm in the
1:03
television show America's got down like
1:05
I it felt like you're stepping into a
1:08
television screen but uh it was so cool
1:11
it was like the scariest thing I think
1:13
we've done in a long time but I want to
1:15
keep doing stuff that scares us yeah so
1:17
not only did you decide to go on
1:19
national TV but you decided to go on
1:21
national TV with a super vulnerable song
1:26
yes disuss that song we put out actually
1:29
a couple years ago ago and it was ironic
1:31
cuz we wrote it about our situation with
1:33
losing our mom to mental health and just
1:35
the struggle with mental health that it
1:36
affects families whether it's the person
1:38
or the person you love and um we just
1:40
knew if we had that one chance to do it
1:42
we were going to do that song we always
1:44
knew that that song had a journey and
1:45
like a life beyond what it was on just
1:48
Spotify and
1:49
activ when we played
1:51
it we were just hoping that everybody
1:53
like the judges don't know who we were
1:55
they know any like like sheet in front
1:57
of them being like here's everything we
1:59
were just strangers to them and they
2:01
immediately everyone in the audience and
2:03
the judges all connected immediately
2:05
knew exactly what it was all about and
2:06
that was all we were hoping if we could
2:08
like reach and impact one person that's
2:11
gone through what we've gone through
2:12
them to make their day better that's all
2:14
we were hoping for it was great what how
2:16
was said afterwards yeah I thought that
2:17
was really it was crazy cuz like Su said
2:19
they didn't know anything they didn't
2:21
know our story we didn't go out and say
2:22
our story because we didn't want it to
2:24
be like hey vote for us because of what
2:26
we've been through we just wanted that
2:28
song to be heard
2:30
and the fact that he related to it so
2:32
quickly was crazy we were just blown
2:35
away by that it was cool so we watch it
2:37
our family watches H I went back and
2:39
watched it this morning was there a
2:41
moment when you were singing the song
2:43
when you were both on stage where you
2:45
were like this is working like it's
2:49
happening um the audience we usually
2:52
have audience mics in our shows with our
2:54
ears like we had our ears in but we had
2:56
nothing but our own vocals and the
2:57
judge's vocals so it was like when the
3:00
audience erupt him in Applause for the
3:02
second time I still didn't hear it Jenna
3:04
was sitting and looking up but I was
3:05
like this so at the end of the song I
3:07
was like we finished it I thought we hit
3:09
all the notes and it was like it had
3:10
gone well but I did not know what
3:12
everyone's going to think I looked in
3:13
both Simon and how he stood up and whole
3:15
crowds up I was like okay we did it it
3:18
felt bigger too like it felt like I
3:21
don't know there's something bigger
3:22
happened on that stage there's something
3:24
there yeah you're were like probably our
3:26
mom just like in the room and it just
3:28
felt it felt bigger than we could have
3:31
expected it to and it is a little unique
3:33
for you guys because you are already a
3:35
big deal in Canada like you've already
3:37
had success you know what success looks
3:39
like so it's it's I imagine a little bit
3:42
scary to put it all back out on the line
3:43
again yes exactly and that's why we
3:45
almost said no because we were like if
3:47
it goes horribly we have a great thing
3:50
going and we don't want people to be
3:51
like oh you suck
3:53
yeah um but we had to do it so it was it
3:57
was turned out okay turned out great you
3:59
guys been doing this for a long time
4:01
what's the dynamic between the two of
4:02
you cuz I mean I'm sure you don't get
4:03
along all the time no no no not at all
4:08
but I think in the early days there was
4:10
a competitive Factor just because we
4:11
didn't know who was going to be the lead
4:13
singer and what the crowd and what the
4:14
audience was going to relate to and want
4:17
more of and it turns out they want both
4:19
of us the exact same and we both could
4:20
have done solo careers and both had our
4:23
own thing but I think there's a power
4:25
and a force between us when we actually
4:26
get to do this together sibling
4:28
harmonies unbeatable yeah my family used
4:31
to do four part H oh my gosh there
4:34
something just a sister but there's
4:36
something about yeah the the family
4:39
harmonies that goar together yeah so
4:41
when you realized okay we're going to do
4:43
this together how did your other
4:45
symptoms feel like did anybody feel left
4:47
out or were they excited for you they
4:48
were excited they've always been excited
4:50
for us I mean our older sister we always
4:52
joke about it cuz she used to sing with
4:53
us but she hated being on stage she
4:56
would like hide behind a curtain and
4:58
sing harmony couldn't get on stage uh
5:01
but they've always been so supportive I
5:02
mean I think if anything we've deterred
5:05
them from trying to to do this yeah cuz
5:08
it's a crazy job there was a good five
5:10
six years where our family our dad and
5:12
mom were very much like reck are going
5:14
to do it we're going to make it happen
5:15
not a lot of people care and ser of
5:17
siblings our youngest sister was like
5:18
seven at dinner one night she's like can
5:20
we just talk to about the rec for like
5:22
one day like please like I was like okay
5:25
yeah actually true that's awesome okay
5:27
so we have new music coming out August
5:30
9th talk about three songs can we out
5:31
talk about it yes we're excited about it
5:33
I mean it's going to be called one beer
5:34
way three pack um and we've been really
5:37
focusing on trying to get a Duo song and
5:40
an individual song for both of us
5:41
because like St said we both sing We
5:43
both write we both have could do solo
5:46
stuff but we've seen how well it can add
5:49
to our show where I would be on the
5:51
stage by myself and sing a song and then
5:53
get off the stage and Stu comes on and
5:54
sings a song and that's kind of what we
5:56
want to do um so that's what it's going
5:58
to be it's my song and then St jna
6:00
song's very pop like production at least
6:03
and mine's very like kind of rock almost
6:05
Rock country and we're like always
6:08
trying to like be more diverse with our
6:10
like genres or our sound I guess because
6:12
instead of just doing one beer way and
6:14
then two other Duets that could be
6:15
country radio singles this is at least
6:17
like a different Dynamic for fans to
6:19
listen to so is there going to be more
6:22
music after this three Sun oh yeah we've
6:25
been recording like crazy because we
6:27
just want it to be like nonstop
6:30
and it's going to be nonstop you're
6:31
going to be sick of the recck loss let
6:32
me tell you we will not be sick of the
6:34
recck Los that is the hope everyone is
6:35
very sick of us so what's the plan is it
6:38
to be a Canadian and an American Artist
6:41
and how are we going to do all of this
6:43
yeah I think it's the plan to yeah the
6:44
whole world anybody that like Australia
6:46
is playing our songs now which is really
6:48
cool and their country radio and America
6:49
is like definitely in our sights and
6:51
what we've always dreamed of it's just
6:53
it's not a straight path like joh said
6:55
it's been hard to break down that door
6:56
but America's Got Talent seems to be of
6:59
great we get to talk to people like you
7:01
because of it so it's working okay so
7:04
one beer away coming out August 9th
7:06
touring stay tuned on AGT for what might
7:09
happen next yes we have a next round
7:11
coming up we need alls we can get please
7:14
