Hey guys, it's Gail with Everything Nash. We are backstage at the Country Music Cruise with Darryl Worley, who we all know I love very much. How are you
0:08
I'm doing good. How are you? I'm good. So you've been making your rounds on this cruise. Why do you love this cruise so much
0:13
It gives you a really cool opportunity to just hang out with the fans, you know, the people that still love what we do
0:24
And then the other thing is the fact that, you know, a lot of our peers are out here and we get to go see their shows
0:32
And it's just, I'd give anything if my wife was here because she absolutely loves that too
0:39
And man, we don't sit still. We're out there seeing all the shows and visiting with all the people. So that's the part that I love
0:47
And I love that about this cruise that so many of the artists have been out seeing the other artists because that's really what it's about
0:53
Yeah. And I mean, you know, I mean, I think about people like, well, we were laughing the other night
1:00
Wade Hayes is considerably younger than I am, but we, we, I got a late start in the business
1:06
So he was one of my, you know, heroes. We listened to his early songs and we was all playing them in the honky tonks
1:13
And Shannon Doa, I love those guys. And I wound up, you know, going through that school of hard knocks down in Muscle Shoals, Alabama
1:20
So I just got a lot in common with all these folks. And this gives us a chance to get out here together and really enjoy what we do
1:27
Good. And I'm so glad that you came. I was worried because you just had the barn fire. How are you doing
1:33
I'm good. I'm good. Yeah. You know, we're tough people. We, we've been through a lot
1:40
There's no quitting us and God's been good to us. You know, it is the whole, the whole thing of just watching something that you love and cherish
1:52
just, just burn up in front of you is a little traumatizing
1:58
But once you get past that part of it and, you know, we just, we're committed to building it back as quick as we can
2:05
And, and getting on with mama's little cow project and all that stuff is, it's just stuff and we'll be fine
2:12
All right. Okay. So I want to talk to new music real quick. So first of all, you did Have You Forgotten? And you just released Have We Forgotten
2:19
Talk about doing the two songs so many years apart. Well, we did, we did the, the new version of the Have We Forgotten thing for, for kind of a 20th anniversary of the original song
2:32
And it was just not really, it didn't, it didn't make a dent out there. It did. It was not something
2:40
And we kind of knew that there was a, probably a pretty good chance that that could happen because, you know, the, the, the division in our country is a whole lot more complicated than what people think
2:53
And when you start talking about unity and wanting to pull together, you know, I, sadly enough, I don't think that song would have just laid there had, had there been a lot of people who thought that was a great idea
3:11
And that's sad because I think we're going to have to pull together to, to be strong like we once were
3:18
And, and that scares me, it scares me, you know, for my, my daughter and the people coming. I don't think they can throw anything at me that I can't handle, but, but it's, it's a tough, it's a tough crowd out there
3:31
Yeah, it is. So. Well, we love you. Last question. New music, what's happening with you? Because we talked last year and you said you had something coming
3:39
Yeah, soon as, soon as we saw where Have We Forgotten was going, we just jumped off of that because I said, let's let it be, you know, maybe we should never even messed with that
3:52
I said, let's grab another one of these. You know, the night we rented the studio, we had to eat up some more time. So we cut three or four things that we thought were hits
4:01
So we started getting this Tractor Time song together and took it over to Allison and those guys at the, at the label and they just, they just love it. I mean, they took it to Scott, Scott Borchetta, and he, he heard it and said, yes
4:12
And so they've even gotten a couple of their artists, you know, Justin Moore and Chris Jansen are both singing on the new song with me. And we feel like it's going to be a hit
4:24
It certainly has the potential. It's, it's real funky and fun and, and it's just about, you know, getting on the tractor for therapy. And so it's a lot of fun and I'm excited
4:35
We haven't had an opportunity like this in quite some time and, and, you know, we're still out there working and I'm still singing okay and let's do it
4:44
You're singing better than okay. We're going to talk more about new music soon. Good to see you, my friend. Thank you so much
4:49
Thank you. Okay, I lied to you
