Reba McEntire is giving an update on her wedding to Rex Linn. The couple announced at the end of 2025 that they were engaged, keeping the news a secret for almost a year after Linn proposed. But with their busy schedules, including both starring in the sitcom, Happy’s Place, a date still has not been set.
“We’re just waiting until we have an open spot to have the wedding,” McEntire tells E! News. “Get it planned. Print those invitations.”

What Reba McEntire Says About Her Wedding to Rex Linn
McEntire and Linn may not have a wedding date set yet, but she knows exactly what she wants for the celebration.
“We’re going to have to have dogs there,” McEntire reveals to Extra TV. “I have two granddogs, Watson and Belle, so they may be the ring bearers or something like that. But we have to have our animals in there. We’ve got longhorns and donkeys, horses, and everything there at the place, cats. We have a lot of fun with them.”
“It’s easy, we have a blast together,” Reba continued. “We work together, and we rehearse together. We carpool together. So, we’re always together. And we like each other. We love each other, but we like each other. We have fun.”
Both McEntire and Linn agree they want a casual, laid-back ceremony, instead of a more formal affair.
“A Reba/Rex wedding is going to be very different,” McEntire says on the Today Show. “It’s going to be low-key, lots of fun, lots of people, lots of food. Our big motto is have fun.”

McEntire and Linn started dating in 2020, nearly 30 years after they first met, starring in Kenny Rogers’ The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw movie in 1991.
“Right before the pandemic, January of 2020, I had gone out to LA to shoot Young Sheldon,” McEntire recalls on Live With Kelly and Ryan. “Well, a good friend of mine that I’d met in ’91, on The Gambler movie with Kenny Rogers , Rex Linn, he was also doing Young Sheldon. So he texted me and said, ‘Hey, you’re coming out to LA. Let’s have dinner.’ I said, ‘Okay.’”
For the Country Music Hall of Fame member, dating Linn is effortless.
“We love the same things,” McEntire says. “We love the country way of life, the Western way of life. We love movies. We love television. The only thing we’re opposite of, he loves thriller horror movies. I’m more like, ‘Happy. Everything’s so sweet.’”
McEntire and Linn might live together and work together, but she insists they never tire of each other.
“We have a blast,” McEntire tells Good Morning America of working with Linn. “We’ve been working together since ’91 … He makes me rehearse so much, by the time we get on the set, I know my lines, your lines, your lines. But it’s fun. I love it.”
