Reba McEntire, Ronnie Dunn + More Praise the Gaither Tribute Album

Reba McEntire and Ronnie Dunn are just two of the artists who are part of the Gaither Tribute: Honoring the Songs of Bill & Gloria Gaither album, along with an impressive list of singers that includes Hillary Scott & The Scott Family, Josh Turner, Ronnie Milsap, Alabama featuring The Oak Ridge Boys, and more, with Tony Brown serving as the executive producer. Several of the country stars are speaking out about the importance of the record, ahead of its August 26 release date.

McEntire sings both “He Touched Me” and “Something Beautiful” with one of her siblings and her former tour openers.

“It’s such an honor to get to sing not one, but two of Bill and Gloria Gaither’s special songs with my sister Susie and Sonya and Becky Isaacs,” McEntire says.

Dunn’s version of “Because He Lives” was released in May, when the record was announced.

“I did this one for my mother who was a huge Gaither fan,” Dunn explains.

Turner sings “Going Home,” a song that is special to him for a myriad of reasons, as are a lot of the Gaither songs.

“It’s just so surreal to be asked to be a part of a project like this, and to honor people like Bill and Gloria Gaither,” Turner shares. “Growing up in a Baptist church their songs have been a part of my life from day one.”

Milsap sings “I Just Feel Like Something Good Is About to Happen,” although he admits he would have been thrilled to sing any of the Gaither songs.

“I can’t thank Tony Brown and Bill and Gloria Gaither enough for asking me to be a part of this awesome project,” the 80-year-old says. “I have always admired their powerful approach to their music, and it was indeed my pleasure to record this wonderful song for them!”

Scott also praised the project, saying, “Being asked to be a part of this Gaither project was an absolute honor,” while The SteelDrivers said, “We are thrilled to be part of this incredible compilation celebrating the music of Bill and Gloria Gaither!”

Paul Sizelove, President of Gaither Music Group, praised all of the artists for their involvement in the tribute album, honoring one of gospel music’s most influential songwriters.

“This recording is a special one for all involved,” says Sizelove. “Each of these artists selected a song from Bill and Gloria’s renowned catalog and created new renditions of these classics. Tony worked with them to create a collection that truly represents the heart and style of each of these talented artists. We are so proud of the art they have created, and what an honor to the Gaither legacy to have these heartfelt recordings from these highly-respected performers.”
