Sara Evans Admits Frustration With Ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic: ‘We Need to Get Back to Work’ (Exclusive)

Sara Evans admits she is frustrated with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and the economic downfall that is taking place across the country, as a result. The mother of three, who previously stated she was relying heavily on her faith during this time, is speaking out about the impact she is facing personally, a burden she shares with millions of Americans.

“We need to get back to work,” Sara told Everything Nash. “I would never speak about politics, because I don’t want to be canceled. I don’t want to be talking to mean to you. I don’t want mean comments. So I just don’t talk about politics at all. But it’s just sad to me. Coronavirus has become one of those issues, and it shouldn’t be. It’s something that happened. Now it’s getting better, but people need more money.

“They need to work,” she continued. “I don’t want anyone to be sick. I don’t want it. But we need to get some perspective. This we really, really do. It is something that is horrible, and if anyone has lost someone from it, that is terrible. But, if anyone’s lost anybody from a car wreck or a heart attack or cancer or anything, it’s terrible. Right? But we don’t shut the world down. And so it’s just baffling to me.”

Sara just released Copy That, a 13-track record of some of her favorite cover tunes. But with no idea of when she will safely be able to tour again, the 49-year-old admits the future is frightening.

“I don’t understand what’s going on and it’s kind of getting scary,” Sara acknowledged. “I’m devastated. I’m going to be devastated financially, by not being able to tour. That’s the only way that I make money as an artist. We don’t make money on record sales anymore, and they don’t play music from me at country radio. So touring is my livelihood, and my livelihood for my family is how I feed my children, and then my band and crew. To me, I’m confused. I think that’s the best word to use about it all.”

Copy That is available for purchase via Amazon, iTunes, and her website.
