Shenandoah and Alexandra Kay Release Stunning New Song, 'Scares Me More'

Shenandoah‘s “Scares Me More” collaboration with Alexandra Kay is out! The song is part of Shenandoah’s next album.

“I was so happy when AK agreed to do this song with us,”  Shenandoah’s lead singer Marty Raybon says. “She is one of the best new vocalists in country music. If you’re a Shenandoah fan, this song will not disappoint.”

Kay has been vocal about her love of Shenandoah, and her excitement about being part of the new song.

“I’ve loved Shenandoah for so long,” Kay admits. “They’re one of those bands whose songs were just always part of my world. So getting to actually sing on this record with them is a pinch-me thing. Marty’s become a real friend to me, which makes it even more special. Getting to stand next to someone whose voice I’ve admired for years and harmonize with him, I’m just so grateful for this one. It’s going to mean a lot to me forever.”

Kay also spoke out on social media about her excitement, ahead of the song’s release.

“Someone tell the girl that almost gave up on her dreams that she has a song coming out with Shenandoah tonight,” Kay captions a video of them in the studio.

Shenandoah to Make Headlining Debut At the Ryman Auditorium

Shenandoah released their self-titled freshman album in 1987. Almost four decades later, the band will celebrate a career first on October 28, when they make their headlining debut at the Ryman Auditorium.

The show is part of Shenandoah’s ongoing 40th Anniversary Celebration.

“To celebrate 40 years of Shenandoah by finally headlining the Ryman Auditorium is something we’re very proud of,” Raybon says. “It’s going to be a wonderful night of music, memories and surprises, and we can’t wait to share it with our fans.”

Shenandoah has plenty of concert dates on the calendar over the next several months, including opening for Luke Combs on his 2027 My Kinda Saturday Night Tour.

Alexandra Kay Debuts New Song At the Grand Ole Opry

Kay recently debuted a new song, “One Woman Show,” at the Grand Ole Opry.

“At the end of last year, we were wrapping up the Second Wind Tour. I felt so drained, because I was going on stage every single night, and I was reliving this divorce,” Kay recently shared during an Opry performance, referring to the songs on her freshman All I’ve Ever Known record. “I did what I always do: I went back to my therapist and talked my way through it. And she was like, ‘You need to write a song about this.’ That’s how I’ve been dealing with things since I was like 12.

“And I just spilled my heart into this song,” she continued. “I didn’t know if anybody would ever hear it. I started playing it acoustic a couple of times on radio shows. And then I was like, this song’s gotta come out. And what better place to do it than the Grand Ole Opry.”
