2 New Taco Restaurants Opening in Nashville

As if the Nashville food scene didn’t already offer enough mouth-watering options to choose from, Music City residents will soon have two new taco restaurants to choose from. Both the plant-based Succulent Vegan Tacos and the unique Velvet Taco will soon be open for business, both in the heart of Nashville.

Succulent Vegan Tacos will open at the Nashville Farmers Market this fall. According to Eater Nashville, the restaurant, inspired by Mexico City street food, has already been making monthly appearances in the Nashville Farmers Market’s Grow Local Kitchen. The owners, Adriana Ortega from Mexico, and Ronald Cerdas, from Costa Rica, started abiding by a plant-based diet years ago, and created Succulent Vegan Tacos as a way to make the foods they already loved vegan.

In addition to tacos, the entirely vegan menu offers tamales, weekend, brunch, desserts including vegan pan dulce and their own conchas, as well as rotating specials from enchiladas to tortas, and more. Find more information by visiting their Facebook page.

Velvet Taco is a Texas-based restaurant, with more than a dozen restaurants in Texas, Georgia, North Carolina and Chicago — and soon Tennessee. The innovative taco restaurant, which boasts unique menu items like a Spicy Tikka Chicken Taco and a vegetarian Nashville Hot Tofu Taco, also offers a Thai Curry Coconut Queso, as well as margaritas, beer and wine.

According to Eater Nashville, Velvet Taco will soon open at 1911 Broadway in Midtown. A specific opening date has yet to be announced. Updates will be posted at VelvetTaco.com.
