Happy anniversary to Luke Combs and his wife, Nicole! The couple celebrated five years of marriage on August 1, 2025. Luke shared a throwback photo of their wedding in honor of the milestone anniversary.
“Can’t believe we’ve been married for 5 years!!!” Luke writes. “I love you more every single day and I’m so blessed to get to live this crazy life with you! Happy Anniversary, Nicole.”

The Beginning of Luke and Nicole Combs’ Relationship
Luke and Nicole began dating in 2016, long before Luke had any success.
“We were down in Florida for a songwriter’s festival,” Nicole recalled on the Couple Things podcast. “We were both single. I was leaving a songwriters’ round, and he was walking up late to it, and he was by himself. I was like, ’Come hang out with us.’”
Luke’s attire aside, Nicole remembers even then being intrigued by Luke, when he was still just an aspiring singer-songwriter.
“We started hanging out after that,” Nicole said. “We hung out a couple nights, and I was like, ‘I’m gonna get to know this guy.’ We just kind of started talking from there.'”
Luke Combs Proposes To Nicole
In 2018, Luke proposed to Nicole on the day they moved into their new house, although it didn’t go exactly as planned.
“We hired a moving company to move all of our stuff from the apartment to the new house,” Luke recalled on the Couple Things podcast. “In the meantime, we went to my manager’s house to spend the day there, while they were moving all the stuff. It’s about an hour apart. We had to bring the cats with us; we have two cats. The cats do not travel well. Her cat peed in the car. My cat threw up in the crate. So that was awesome.”
All signs pointed to Luke holding off on the proposal, but Nicole’s parents were already en route, and he told them he was proposing to her. The two can, fortunately, now laugh at the memory of the day Luke popped the quesiton.
“He was like, ‘I got these collars for the cats, new collars with the new address on it, and I also got you this,’” Nicole recounted. “He pulls [the ring] out, gets down on one knee, does the whole thing. I black out, I don’t remember this. And I was just like, ‘My ears are hot. What’s going on?’
“That’s what she said,” Luke continued. “My ears are hot.”

Luke and Nicole Combs’ Wedding
The proposal might not have gone as planned, but neither did the wedding. The two were planning a larger ceremony, which had to be curtailed due to the coronavirus pandemic. In hindsight, Luke says they had the wedding of their dreams anyway.
“My wedding was gonna be really big, and we had to change venues a week before. We had to cut our guest list by like 70 percent, and it ended up being so awesome,” Luke told Radio.com. “I think back on it now and we wouldn’t have even gotten to talk to everyone at our wedding if it wasn’t the size that it became.”
Still, the North Carolina native admits it was disappointing that all of his Nicole’s planning ended up not coming to fruition.
“My wife worked really, really hard to settle that stuff up,” Luke acknowledged. “We did have a wedding planner that she worked with, but [Nicole] was very heavily involved in the entire process. So, we were really looking forward to it being a certain way, and a certain thing. At the end of the day, that ended up not mattering because it was still really beautiful and it was everything that I wanted it to be, but I also want to be able to give her that thing that she spent so much time doing.”
“She put so much time into it being this beautiful thing for everybody that we wanted to be there, and then that wasn’t able to happen,” he added. “So that kind of bums me out a little bit, for her.”
Luke and Nicole Combs’ Family
On June 19, 2022, Luke and Nicole welcomed their first son, Tex, who was followed by his younger brother Beau, born on August 15, 2023. In spite of Luke’s massive success, the two are determined to give their sons as normal a childhood as possible.
“I want my kids’ childhood to feel as normal as it can, given the very strange circumstances that it will ultimately become,” Combs shares on the MeatEater podcast (via Country Now). “That’s a choice you have to make. And you lose a lot of things with that in the sense of like, there’s so many cool opportunities that I have that maybe would be really, not really beneficial, but cool experiences or beneficial to my career that I pass on to do that for my kids.”
“It’s not something I’m bragging [about], like ‘I’m such a good dad,’” he adds. “It’s not that. It’s just, I say this all the time, but my kids didn’t ask to be born. It was my choice to bring them into the world. So to me, it’s my duty.”
