Alexandra Kay Debuts New Song She Wrote With Rocko Beall [WATCH]

Alexandra Kay just teased a romantic new song. Kay shares a clip of the tune on social media, revealing that she just wrote it with her boyfriend and band member, Rocko Beall.

“Rocko and I woke up this morning, and were drinking coffee, and wrote a song,” Kay explains. “And so, we wanted to show it to you.”

The song says, “Every inch of the earth fits in this room / Thanks to the keeper of stars, I’m dancing with you / Just like the wind, you sweep me off my feet / Our hearts are syncopated to the beat / If I close my eyes, it’s just to freeze time for a moment / ‘Cause honey, it all makes sense / Every mistaken step / I’d walk them again / f I knew it led to me being happier than I’ve ever been / And I’ll never be the same girl who had everything / Was empty and torn, always keeping score / But now that I’m yours, I need nothing more.”

What Alexandra Kay Says About Her Relationship With Rocko Beall

Kay recently opened up about her relationship with Beall, whom she has been dating for over a year. The relationship comes after the end of her marriage, a pain she details in her freshman  All I’ve Ever Known album. After her divorce, she slowly began to realize that she was looking at Beall in a different way.

“Honestly, I didn’t look at him like that. I didn’t. I was single for the first time in 11 years, and he was very reliable,” Kay shares on the  Artist Friendly podcast. “He was very sweet, very kind. He’s great. He’s like one of the best guys I’ve ever met. He really is. He’s an incredible person. To be completely honest, one night we were having beers backstage, like one will do after a show. And I looked over at Beth, and I was like, ‘Rocko’s kind of cute.’ She was like, ‘What?’ I was like, ‘Maybe I’ve just had too much.’”

Kay didn’t tell Beall about her feelings right away, especially since they were already so close.

“I feel like I fell in love with him before I ever even liked him, and had a crush on him,” Kay concedes. “It was just, I loved him so much as a person, as a human, as a friend. And then, when I started to feel that romantic connection and that attraction to him like that, ’cause he was single and I was single at the same time. We spent so much time together, that’s when I started to look at him in a different light.”

What Rocko Beall First Said About Dating Alexandra Kay

Kay now admits that Beall wasn’t as sure about making their relationship romantic, because of their friendship and working relationship.

“I basically just started flirting with him and stuff, and he would joke around about it,” Kay recalls. “And then I asked him one time, I was like, ‘There’s something between us. I’m not the only one feeling this.’ And he was like, ‘That’s never going to happen …because I love my job, and I love it here. And this could completely ruin this whole thing.’  As a touring family, we’re so close. Literally like my family. And he was like, ‘I’m not going to be the one to ruin this dynamic.’ And then he ended up coming around to the idea.”

Kay now says she is happier than she has ever been, thanks to Beall. The two will spend a lot of time together on the road this year, including opening for Old Dominion in Australia and New Zealand. “Straight For The Heart,” her debut single from her sophomore  Second Wind record, is at radio now.
