Riley Green Hints He Is Getting Into Acting

Riley Green is adding acting to his resume. The “Worst Way” singer hints he has already filmed a role, although he can’t reveal what it is just yet.

“I don’t know how much I’m supposed to say about it,”  Green shares during a recent media event. “So I’ll just leave it at, it’s been something that I’ve been interested in for a while, and obviously been talking about for a little bit. I had some opportunities last year to kind of go down that road. I really struggled with, I can’t make myself take time off of touring, ’cause it’s been going so well.”

Green is certainly at the top of his game, with two back-to-back No.1  singles, three recent CMA Awards, and more. But he isn’t about to slow down anytime soon.

“It’s such a battle to stay relevant nowadays,” Green admits. “There are so many ways people can put out music, and it seems like a new artist pops up weekly. So that may be an avenue for me to dial back my life on the road, if I’m doing something else that’s also building my career. I certainly think acting can do that. You look at what shows like Yellowstone have done for the Western lifestyle, and how big country music I think is becoming big in other countries, because of shows like that.

“It’s definitely something I’m interested in, and we may or may not see something like that,” he adds.

Riley Green Plans to Release New Music in 2026

Green might be delving into acting, but he’s also working hard on new music. The 37-year-old will embark on his  Cowboy As It Gets Tour in April, which will likely include new material.

“We’re going to be playing a lot of the songs that I’ve played for years, that kind of got us here,” Green hints.  “And then some brand-new songs off the last album. And then, also putting out some music, hopefully here pretty soon, that we’ll be playing some brand new songs.”

Green’s current “Change My Mind” single is from his sophomore Don’t Mind If I Do record. With his next set of tunes, Green vows to continue to release music that resonates with his fans, which also honors his favorite country music era.

“I grew up in the ’90s,” Green tells CMT. “That was probably my biggest influence, were those artists from the ’90s. I got to take Tracy Lawrence out on tour with me. Alan JacksonTim McGrawGeorge Strait, the list just continues. It’s so cool to get to shine a bit of light to a younger demographic. ‘Cause there are some fans that I always say ’90s country to them is early 2000s country. So keep shining a light on that era of music, because there’s something that’s so special about it.”

Green’s Cowboy As It Gets Tour begins on April 16, with Justin Moore joining him for all dates.
