Ella Langley recorded a song with Keith Urban. Langley shares the good news while speaking with Country Countdown USA, revealing that Urban also has another connection to her own Dandelion record.
“Imagine you’re me, and you get a text from Keith Urban,” Langley recalls. “When he reached out, I said ‘Absolutely.’ We also finished up some of this album at his studio. One day, he was just there sitting on the couch, just hanging out. He just sat there and listened. It was really cool.”
Urban has yet to reveal details of his next project. His last album, High And A(Live), came out in December.
Ella Langley Talks Working With Miranda Lambert
Langley’s Dandelion record comes out on April 10. The album includes her massive hit, “Choosin’ Texas,” which she wrote with Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick, and Joybeth Taylor. Lambert also co-produced all of Dandelion, becoming close friends with Langley as a result.
“Such a godsend for me,” Langley says of working with Lambert. “I always wanted to produce a record with her. After we wrote ‘Choosin’ Texas,’ she was there for all the sessions. She also was there for me to ask advice. She said to me, ‘You are more important than this job.’ She made me care for myself. Having someone like that made me feel like I’m okay.”
“Choosin’ Texas” made history, becoming the first time a female artist topped the Billboard Hot 100, Country Airplay, and Hot Country Songs charts.
“We were talking on FaceTime the other night,” Langley recalls. “We’ve made history with this song, both just baffled and grateful. We loved the song, but never thought it would do this. There’s no way you can predict it.”
Getting to work with Lambert is more than she could have ever dreamed for herself, even as a little girl.
“I’ve looked up to Miranda Lambert for as long as I’ve known who she was,” Langley says. “And she’s somebody who I would just love to write a song with. So getting the chance to write ‘Choosin’ Texas’ with her, and a couple other songs off this record, it was just one of the coolest things. I mean, who gets to do something they dreamed about as a little kid. I was like, that little kid got to come out and experience it that day, so it was awesome.”
Ella Langley’s Gratitude For Her Success
Likely no one works harder than Langley, but she isn’t about to complain. Instead, the 26-year-old is grateful for all of her success, especially if it got her to this point in her career.
“It’s really cool to be me right now,” Langley boasts. “If you have a passion, whether it’s music or anything, trust yourself, because it is the coolest thing to wake up and do what you love to do every day.”
