Carrie Underwood has no time for online trolls. The mother of two, who won Season 4 of American Idol in 2005, has learned over the years not to let any social media comments affect her in the least.
“It’s evolved over time,” Underwood admits on SiriusXM‘s The Highway. “My time on American Idol, we had like message boards and things like that, and it was kind of the beginning of just meanness online, I guess.”
Of course, in the 21 years since then, social media has exploded, with millions of people now sharing their opinions online. The 43-year-old acknowledges that it’s much harder today than it was when she was just getting started.
“I feel like [artists] have to deal with so much more of that now,” Underwood says. “And we just kind of are in a world right now where we forget that we’re watching human beings do things. And it’s so easy to talk about that. … It’s no longer like water cooler chats. I never would have known about what people were talking about in school or whatever. And now you can just say it online. So, that’s a thing that everybody’s got to have to navigate.”
Carrie Underwood Opens Up About Her Imaginary Feud With Nikki Glaser
Amid all of the fake news that is prominent on social media is a feud between Underwood and comedian Nikki Glaser, after Glaser was a guest judge on American Idol.
“I feel like if you have two ladies in the same room together, somebody’s going to try to make something of it,” Underwood says. “She was wonderful. And I think she did such a great job because it’s not an easy thing to come sit behind that desk and try to think of constructive things to say. I feel like she did everything wonderfully. But no, there’s no beef. I have no beef.”

Underwood just launched her new wellness brand, HiNote. It’s something she is proud to be a part of and support.
“Health and wellness have always been such an important part of my life,” Underwood says of her new venture. “Through my app, my own workouts, and daily conversations, I keep hearing the same heartfelt truth from women everywhere, myself included: we want to care for ourselves while still showing up for everything else our busy lives demand. That’s why I created HiNote. To help build a home for the everyday habits that support real life: movement, nourishment, and simple routines you can stick with.”
The first product available is HiNote Everyday Energy Daily Nutrition Drink Mix. The drink, available in Berry Medley, Juicy Peach, and Strawberry Lemonade. offers 20 grams of protein, including 15 grams of clear whey and 5 grams of collagen, along with 5 grams of fiber, 13 fruits and vegetables, superfoods, greens, and vitamin B. The HiNote Everyday Energy Daily Nutrition Drink Mix has no added sugar or caffeine.
“For me, health has never been about chasing perfection,” Underwood explains. “It is about stewardship. Taking care of the body that was given to me. It’s about mindset. Learning to quiet the voice that says, ‘You’re not enough,’ and replace limiting beliefs with truth— ‘I can do hard things,’ and also, ‘I can give myself grace.’ Wellness is about honoring the bodies we’ve been given. It’s about small, steady positive choices that add up over time—choosing better. Not perfectly, just consistently. Those are the same principles that guide how I train, how I eat, how I live. And they became the foundation for HiNote.”
