Alan Jackson is speaking out about wrapping up his historic career with one final show. The 67-year-old recently headlined his Last Call: One More for the Road — The Finale, the final headlining concert of his career.
In addition to Jackson running through many of his hits, he was also joined for the historic night by several other artists, including George Strait, Luke Bryan, Lainey Wilson, Carrie Underwood, Luke Combs, Eric Church, Thomas Rhett, Riley Green, and more.
“A night full of songs, stories, and memories we’ll carry with us forever,” Jackson shares on social media. “Thank you to the artists, friends, family, and every fan who made [Last Call: One More for the Road — The Finale] one we’ll always remember. Whether you were at Nissan Stadium, on Broadway, at Belmont University, or the Country Music Hall of Fame, thank y’all for celebrating with us!”

Alan Jackson Looks Back On His Legendary Career
During his final concert, Jackson looked back on his legendary career
“If anybody’s lived the American dream, I’ve lived it,” the Georgia native said. “I’ve been so blessed, and so lucky. I just want to thank everybody, especially all of you fans, all over the world … y’all have been so supportive of my music all of these years. I’ve played several thousand shows in the last 36 years, y’all always treated me nice and respected the music. I appreciate it so much. I came here, and I gave it five years, and I was going to go back home, probably end up selling cars or doing something. That wasn’t a bad thing. But I was lucky; after about five years, I finally got a record contract.”
Jackson goes on to reveal that after he got his record deal, he made his first album, Here in the Real World, releasing “Blue Blooded Woman,” which tanked at radio.
“It died a terrible death on the charts,” Jackson joked. “I was bummed out.” He adds that, as his first single was not doing well, his wife, Denise, revealed she was pregnant with their first child, Mattie.
“We thought, ‘Well, I guess I’m gonna have to go back to work now, to pay for this baby, and give up this music dream. Luckily, the record label decided to release this other song,” he said, beginning to play “Here in the Real World.” “And they did, and I haven’t worked since.”
Why Alan Jackson Is Retiring From Touring
Jackson may not have chosen to come off of the road on his own. But in 2021, the Country Music Hall of Fame member revealed he is battling Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease, a neurological disorder that affects his mobility.
During Jackson’s final tour stop on his Last Call: One More for the Road tour, he looked back on all he had accomplished in country music.
“It’s been a long, sweet ride,” he said at the time. “It started 40 years ago this September. My wife and I drove to Nashville with an old U-Haul trailer, and chased this dream. It’s been a crazy ride. I’ve lived the American dream for sure, and I’m so blessed. Thank y’all so much for all your support of my music and coming to shows. It’s amazing how time and all that stuff works in your life. It all comes down to just one little three-minute song.”
