We now know all of the songs on Kenny Chesney‘s new Silver Sands Marina album. The 11-track record, his 21st, will be out on September 25. Silver Sands Marina features his current single, “Carry On,” collaborations with Megan Moroney, Colbie Caillat, and Lily Meola, the title track, and more.
“It’s funny how records show you who they are,” Chesney says of his next project. “And Silver Sands Marina came together in a whole other way when we found the title track, and a couple others. When we went in and cut those last three tracks, I realized: it’s like a rock in your shoe. It’ll bother you until it’s right when you’re dealing in songs. But when it’s right, you know.”
Silver Sands Marina is Chesney’s first record since BORN was released in 2024. Part of country music for more than 30 years, the 58-year-old wasn’t afraid to try something new on the project.
“Some of these songs are unlike anything people have heard, or haven’t heard in a long time,” Chesney says of the songs. “Some of them go deep, some of them will make people turn it up, a few will make them laugh… But, together, I think they’ll remind them how great it is to be alive. Even on days where you need a song like ‘Carry On,’ we’re making the best of what we’ve got.”

Kenny Chesney’s Current Single, “Carry On”
Already in the Top 10, “Carry On” became his 100th charting single. It’s also one of his favorite songs that he has ever recorded.
“It is such a well-written song,” Chesney says. “You can smell the fall in the air, the lake, and that solitude. Everyone’s so busy rushing, you miss most of the small details – and everything that happens around them. But in ‘Silver Sands Marina,’ not only do the details hold the song in place, they remind you that the magic happens in the simplest, realest places; you just have to be open to letting it happen.”
What Kenny Chesney Says About the Title Track of ‘Silver Sands Marina’
Chesney previously released the title track of Silver Sands Marina, explaining why he built the whole record around this one song.
“When you hear the song, it’s so perfectly drawn, you almost can’t believe it’s real,” Chesney says. “But, of course, it is a real place – located on Lake Winnipesaukee – where generations of families and friends have tied up their boats, checked in, enjoyed the water and being together. You can feel all the happiness and fun people have had there the moment you step on the property.”
Chesney, whose Living in Fast Forward exhibit is open now at the Country Music Hall of Fame, will return to TalkShopLive on July 30 to discuss Silver Sands Marina. Signed copies of both the vinyl album and the CD will be available for purchase.
