Austin Moody, Jerrod Niemann and more have teamed up for a new Christmas project. The six-song EP, Old-Fashioned Christmas, is being released in partnership with Duke Spirits, offering the project, along with an official John Wayne cocktail book, with purchases of $100 or more.
John Wayne: The Official Cocktail Book features more than 70 recipes of the late movie star, including both handcrafted cocktails and bar bites. The book, created in partnership with John Wayne Enterprises, is the first officially licensed John Wayne cocktail book.
Moody, husband to Runaway June‘s Jennifer Wayne — the granddaughter of John Wayne — is one of the producers of the EP.
“We are excited to continue our journey as a brand into the music industry and celebrate the spirit of the Christmas season with our newly recorded EP Old Fashioned Christmas,” Duke Spirits founder Chris Radomski shares. “With such talented names on this record, we look forward to giving our community a great listening experience paired with our award-winning spirits.”
Paul McDonald performs the classic “Please Come Home for Christmas” for the project.
“Working with Duke Spirits and the team Austin put together for this session was a dream,” McDonald says. “We tracked at Studio Phoenix in Nashville with a band full of literal living legends. I’m heavily inspired by so many artists from the 70s, and after discussing song options with Austin, we decided the Eagles’ version of ‘Please Come Home For Christmas’ would be really fun. The band locked in immediately and we ran the song a few times live on the floor before deciding on a final version, and what you hear on the EP is a snapshot from that moment.”
