Bill Anderson Releases 73rd Album, ‘The Hits Re-Imagined’

Bill Anderson has just released his 73rd album, The Hits Re-Imagined. The record includes 10 of his most beloved songs from the last 60 years, with both newly-recorded and instrumental versions, including one of “Whiskey Lullaby,” which Brad Paisley released with Alison Krauss in 2004.

“I’ve heard it said that if you want somebody to lean in and listen to what you have to say, you should whisper,” Brad said in a statement of his friend and hero, Whisperin’ Bill. “Bill Anderson’s been doing that for well over 200 years! In all seriousness, country music wouldn’t be the same if Bill Anderson had never picked up a pen and whispered his way into history. I’m so lucky to be friends with this legend. And to have benefited from his art.”

Bill has had one of the most successful careers in country music of any artist. The 82-year-old became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1961, and a member Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001. He released 80 charting songs, with 37 of them making it to the Top 10, and seven becoming No. 1 hits. As a songwriter, Bill has received 50 BMI Awards, three CMA Awards and two ACM Awards. He was also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
