Blake Shelton had a big surprise for food bank workers in his home state of Oklahoma. The 43-year-old appeared on a large screen at the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank, to dedicate his performance of “Nobody But You” with Gwen Stefani to the workers, airing his touching tribute during the finale of The Voice.

“I wanted to say, very quickly, thank you to all the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank frontline workers,” Blake said, while outside his own Ole Red bar in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. “Actually thanks to all the food bank workers, across this country. You’re out there, you’re taking care of people, and we love you for it. Be sure, if you’re watching this, donate to your local food bank. I’m about to go in here and do a song with Gwen Stefani, for you guys.”

 

Blake, who previously donated $150,000 to the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank, came out the winner of Season 18 of The Voice, with his teammate, Mississippi pastor Todd Tilghman. Although the last few episodes of the reality TV talent show were filmed remotely, due to coronavirus, Blake is eager to spend as much time as possible with Todd when the pandemic ends.

“I think our partnership between Todd’s energy and my lack of energy together, we make one normal human being,” Blake said in a press conference after the finale. “It’s the perfect combination of dudes. Honestly, I can’t wait to be in the same room with Todd, and hang out with him. I want to perform with him on stage.”

“I want to get past whatever we gotta do here to get past this pandemic and get back to normal life, and get on stage with this guy, because he truly is a rush to be around,” Blake continued. “I want to sing with this guy. That’s what I’m looking forward to. I know we did it on the show, and we did it this way, but you gotta do it the right way.”
