Brandon Davis Releases Personal New Song, ‘I Can Wait’ [LISTEN]

Brandon Davis is once again wearing his heart on his sleeve with his latest song, “I Can Wait.” The father of four released the song, which he co-wrote with Josh Bricker and Josh Byrd, sharing details of the tune in a video on social media ahead of its release.

“The crazy part about it is, we were actually not planning on originally writing this song,” Davis explained. “We had just dropped the music video for ‘Destiny’ that day. Earlier in the day, I was telling my mom, ‘Hey, I’ve got a link that you can go in and see the music video for ‘Destiny‘ a little early,’ trying to give her that little extra time to see it before having to wait for everybody else to watch it. She said, ‘You know, if everybody else has to wait until such and such a time, then I can wait.'”

As soon as Davis shared that conversation, he knew that they had the idea for another song, one Davis is proud to be a part of.

“We got to thinking about it,” Davis recalls. “Just that simple phrase, ‘ I can wait,’ truly does change a lot of perspectives about how we’re viewing day to day, and how we can really rush through a lot of life, and we can come through, trying to just grow up too quick, or trying to get from A to B just a little bit too fast, instead of sitting back and enjoying all the time that’s in between. I know I spent a lot of my life as a kid, really just not  being able to wait until I was an adult, things that I wanted to do, like drive and be able to play college sports. The list goes on.”

When announcing “I Can Wait,” Davis also shared how much the song parallels things he has dealt with in his own life and promising career.

“I feel like a lot of my life I have spent rushing from one point to the next, from A to B, trying to hurry up and get things done and accomplished,” said the singer. “But there’s a lot of firsts and a lot of things you get to experience along the way that if you rush through them and you hurry past them, once they’re gone, they’re just gone.

“You can’t go back and do these first things over again,” he continued. “There are experiences in life that you only get to live once. So instead of rushing through it, and going as fast as of a pace as you can go …instead of rushing through all these moments, kick back and enjoy yourself. Enjoy life, because you only get one of them, and it’s worth waiting on some of these things.”

Davis is continuing to tour all over the country, and hints he is already working on new dates in 2023. Find music and upcoming shows at BrandonDavisMusic.com.
