Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard made a massive comeback in June, surprising fans at CMA Fest by performing together, and announcing that they were reuniting. But their return dates back to several months before their surprise appearance. In November, Hubbard revealed that the two hadn’t talked in a while, but that he missed their friendship, and they had plans to go on a hike together. The hike turned into more get-togethers, including time at Hubbard’s Utah home.
Although both are still pursuing solo careers, including Kelley’s new Coral Beats album, out on August 14, Kelley is thrilled to once again reunite with Hubbard, four years after Florida Georgia Line announced they were disbanding.
“I’m so pumped,” Kelley says on SiriusXM’s The Highway. “He’s pumped, and there’s just a camaraderie. There’s a brotherhood. There’s the power of music that with that catalog of songs that we share with so many fans that it’s affected their life. So, it was also kind of a tease because it was two songs and gone. A massive pop-up, and it was a moment, but we both walked off like, ‘Dang, I wish we could play everything else we got in the arsenal.’”

What Brian Kelley Missed About Being in Florida Georgia Line With Tyler Hubbard
Florida Georgia Line spent a decade together, churning out hit after hit, beginning with their record-breaking debut single, “Cruise,” out in 2012. Friends long before the launch of Florida Georgia Line, Kelley admits he missed spending time with Hubbard.
“I’d say all of it, to be honest with you,”Kelley says, when asked what he missed. “I mean, it’s a family. It’s a brotherhood. It’s extremely special. And you know, we’ve been on a heck of a ride. And what we’ve been able to do and see, not everybody has gotten to do that. It’s a blessing. So, to get back and to share that, there’s a bond that I think is — I know is — stronger than ever. You go through some things, and you come out refined by the fire. And if you can make it through like we have, you’re going to be stronger for it. So, we’re fired up. Next year’s going to be a blast.”
Neither Kelley nor Hubbard have announced specific dates for new music or more touring.
What Tyler Hubbard Says About Launching Florida Georgia Line With Brian Kelley Again
Hubbard has also been outspoken about his excitement about launching Florida Georgia Line again.
“I would say we’ve got some things in the works for next year,” Hubbard says on Chicago’s US 99 radio station. “We’re excited. BK and I have been hanging out, having a good time, and kind of itching to get back on stage. So we’ll probably put some shows together next year. That’s about as much as we planned at this point. But we’re both excited. It’s going to be a fun year next year.”
Like Kelley, Hubbard was thrilled to be able to perform as part of Florida Georgia Line at CMA Fest.
“It was cool,” Hubbard says. “It was a great moment. It was kind of that moment where it felt like everyone around us and the fans and everyone online got to experience the power and the healing that BK and I have been getting to experience for the last year. It was cool.”
