Carrie Underwood, Mike Fisher Launch 4-Part ‘God & Country’ Series

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher are about to give fans an even more in-depth look at their personal lives. The powerhouse couple will launch the four-part series, God & Country, as part of the I Am Second nonprofit organization, which tells true stories of people who are “living for something greater than themselves.”

“We wanted to do this to share some of our personal journey in hopes that viewers will be inspired by it, “and maybe even take one more step in pursuing a relationship with God,” Carrie said in a statement.

God & Country will share plenty of the couple’s own highs and lows, including their early years of married life, trying to blend Carrie’s vegan lifestyle with Mike’s love of hunting.

“I swore I would never marry a hunter, as a child,” Carrie said, adding, “We just differ, drastically.”

“When we were dating, it was like, ‘It’ll be fine,'” Mike recounted. “And then all of a sudden we get married, and it was like, ‘Whoa, here we go.”

God & Country also delves into the couple’s three painful miscarriages between welcoming their oldest son, 5-year-old Isaiah, and their young son, 1-year-old Jacob.

“She was like, ‘I lost the baby.’ And I was like, ‘Again?'” Mike recalled. “We’ve had all these mountaintops, but we haven’t had a ton of valleys, like this.”

“I just had an honest conversation with God,” Carrie recounted. “I was hurt. I told Him how I felt.”

Carrie and Mike already live much of their lives in the public eye, but wanted to share part of their faith with God & Country as well.

“We wanted to do this to share some of our personal journey in hopes that viewers will be inspired by it, and maybe even take one more step in pursuing a relationship with God,” Carrie noted

“Since first filming with I Am Second six years ago, I have seen God continue to grow my faith as Carrie and I have together walked through the natural joys and struggles of life,” added Mike. “This new series is not only a continuation of the 2014 White Chair film, but hopefully a reminder to individuals of God’s faithfulness in all situations.”

God & Country will premiere on Wednesday, May 26, on IAmSecond.com.
