Chris Tomlin Joined by Tyler Hubbard, Shay Mooney + More for Celebrity Golf Tournament

Chris Tomlin is enlisting the help of some of his famous friends for a cause he is passionate about. The singer-songwriter will be joined by Tyler Hubbard, Dan + Shay‘s Shay Mooney, TobyMac, NFL’s Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger and Golden Tate, and sports commentator Kirk Herbstreit, among others. for Tomlin’s 2nd Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament.

For Others, the non-profit started by Tomlin and his wife, Lauren is partnering with the Troubadour Golf & Field Club in Middle Tennessee and Discovery Land Company Foundation (DLCF) to put on the event, which will be held on May 18 at the Troubadour Golf & Field Club. The evening will conclude with a musical concert.

Last year’s inaugural event allowed For Others to donate $832,500 to DLCF, which helps vulnerable children and their families.

“It’s been an honor and a blessing to once again lock arms with our good friends at Troubadour for this year’s Celebrity Golf Tournament and gala,” said David Nasser, For Others President. “For Others and Discovery Land Company Foundation both serve at-risk children, which makes this partnership a natural fit. We’re so excited to spend a day with our guests and friends and to see the lasting results their compassion brings.”

“We’re very blessed to have so many incredible celebrities join us to help raise awareness for some of the most vulnerable kids in our nation,” added Chad Spencer, For Others Board member. “Their hearts for young people affected by foster care inspire us to keep advocating for holistic, effective solutions to set these kids up for an amazing future.”

Tomlin’s altruism goes far beyond his For Others nonprofit. The father of three announced, during his annual Good Friday Nashville event, held at Bridgestone Arena, that he was donating proceeds from the event to a fund to help those impacted by the tragic Covenant School shooting earlier this year.

“This is year seven of Good Friday,” Tomlin said. “We stated from year one that whatever proceeds came in, whatever profits came from this night, we would give to local charity, and it would be something that went back into the community and this year is just the same.

“We’re setting up a Covenant fund that will be working with leadership in the coming weeks and the coming months, for whatever you need. … We’re all a part of this together.”

Tomlin was recently nominated for two K-LOVE Fan Awards, both for Male Artist of the Year, and Worship Song of the Year, for “Always.” Find all of Tomlin’s music and upcoming shows at ChrisTomlin.com. More information on For Others can be found here.
