Dolly Parton is sharing some of her recipes with the world. The “I Will Always Love You” singer announces the release of her new cookbook, Good Lookin’ Cookin’: A Year of Meals— A Lifetime of Family, Friends, and Food, written by Parton along with her sister, Rachel Parton George. Included in the book are multi-course menus for holidays like New Year’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and more.
“I love good cooking, but not as much as I love my sister Rachel,” Parton says. “So, getting to combine the two was a joy beyond belief for me. I do believe you’re going to love all these great recipes, and I think you’re gonna have as much fun reading these stories and things that we put together for you as we did. I can’t wait to get this book in your hands, and for you to get this food on your table.”
“This book has always been a dream of mine,” George adds. “Cooking with my sister Dolly, looking through favorite recipes and recalling stories has been great fun. Through the years, we’ve washed many dishes, cleaned up plenty of spills and shared a lot of laughter. And somehow, we always manage to end up with good lookin’ cookin’! Everyone knows Dolly as a great singer-songwriter – and she is – but she’s also very creative in the kitchen. I’m so excited to share this book with you so you can experience that yourself!”
Included in Good Lookin’ Cookin’ are recipes for Country Ham and Biscuits, Barbecue Spare Ribs, Family Favorite Meatloaf, Slaw of Many Colors, Watermelon Fruit Salad, Mac and Cheese, and Strawberry Shortcake and more.
Parton also shared photos from Good Lookin’ Cookin’ on social media of some of the recipes included in the book.

This isn’t Parton’s first foray into cooking. She also has her own line of mixes with Duncan Hines, which recently expanded, and now includes banana and coconut cake mixes and frosting, plus cornbread, biscuits and brownie mixes as well.
“I’m really excited to launch more baking mixes steeped in my southern roots, like cornbread and biscuits,” Parton said at the time. “I think folks are really going to like them and hope they’ll bake up some special memories with family and friends.”
Parton has plenty of other things on her schedule, including putting the finishing touches on her long-awaited Broadway musical.
“Right now, I’m working on my life story as a musical, and so going on Broadway and opening my show on Broadway, that’s been a biggie [goal] in my mind for many, many years,” Parton told People, adding that her goal is to have it open by spring of next year. “That’d be the one that I want to make certain I get done while I’m still kicking, while I’m around to stay involved in it.”
